SEE WITH YOUR

OWN EYES

Dick Eastman spends quality time in a remote Ethiopian village.

ver the past 40 years, I’ve circled the globe many times over (seven trips around the world last year

alone) visiting our global offices and observing the work of our dedicated teams in the field. During those visits, I’ve witnessed the transforming power of the Gospel at work in more than 100 nations. I’ve had the remarkable privilege of hearing firsthand testimonies of entire villages destroying their ancestral idols and bowing their knees to Jesus. I’ve seen miracles of healing, broken lives restored and astounding answers to prayer.

This month, we’re going to take you on a visual journey with this special photo edition of Every Home magazine. In the pages that follow, you’ll see for yourself what our dedicated global workers experience day after day.

As you embark on this journey, please pray for our staff and pioneer missionaries who’ve dedicated their lives to sharing the Gospel home to home in their nations. Are you ready? Bon voyage!

O

Saturday, January 16, is this month’s School of Prayer. Dick Eastman and other leaders from the Body of Christ will gather to worship and pray for revival in America. Please join us in person or by live streaming the event online.

Members of a church in Budapest, Hungary were trained and sent out to reach the lost in their community.

TO REACH EVERY HOME ON EARTH WITH THE GOSPELHistorically, we have worked in around 200 nations — but rarely alone — because we believe the local church is God’s chosen instrument to minister the Gospel and raise up strong disciples. Each month, we train and equip thousands of churches to systematically reach their communities for Christ. On these pages, you will see churches that we work with in all phases of the outreach and disciple-making process.

Three church members from Iglesia Evangelica Cristiana, one of the key churches in Buenos Aires, Argentina, proclaim the Gospel home by home in their surrounding neighborhoods.

The National Director of Hungary, Péter Sztanó (right), ministers the Gospel along with members of the local church he trained in Budapest.

Evangelists from the same local church in Mexico minister to their community. One woman even sought them out and requested prayer when she found out what they were doing.

AND WHERE THERE IS NO CHURCH...

An EHC worker speaks to a Christ Group that was formed after an outreach to the Batonga people in Zimbabwe. This Christ Group has grown so large that it may soon develop into an established church.

n areas where there is no local church — such as in closed countries, remote locations or among unreached people

groups — we send trained pioneer mission-aries to go and preach the Gospel. These pioneer missionaries often travel long dis-tances in small teams to minister the Gospel in remote areas. When people come to Jesus as a result of these outreaches, Every Home for Christ invests time, energy and resources to raise up leaders and plant Christ Groups, which are small, New Testament fellowships. Christ Groups take part in the same activi-ties as larger churches; they worship togeth-er, celebrate communion, learn about the Bible, pray for one another and care for each other. Many times, Christ Groups will grow into larger churches, multiplying many times over. In these photos, you can see a small sampling of the over 20,000 Christ Groups that were planted last year alone.

Persevering. Committed.Devoted to the Call.

In 1964, Dr. Jack McAlister and Johnny Lee began Every Home for Christ’s work in India. More than 50 years later, we continue to build on their vision of sharing the Gospel and making disciples in this nation that makes up over 1/7th of the earth’s population. Today, there are 12 national offices that conduct the work in India’s 29 states. Every Home for Christ India has faced challenges over the years. But with God — and through prayer — it has become one of our most fruitful works. On the following pages, you’ll catch a glimpse of the lasting heritage that has been built in this precious subcontinent.

These photographs span five decades of outreach in India. In the early days, there were only a handful of faithful men and women pioneering this work. Now, over 3,000 staff and evangelists lead the thriving ministry we see today. Since 1964, Every Home for Christ India has reached more than 280 million homes with the Gospel. In a couple of the photographs on page 13, you can see the 50th Jubilee celebration attended by over 10,000 people, marking an important milestone.

With EHC workers taking the Gospel to over 250,000 homes around the world each day, we receive more stories from the field than we’re able to share in a monthly magazine. So we share them on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Follow us on any of these sites to get breaking news from the field, real-time prayer requests and testimonies from our EHC workers every day. On the following pages, you’ll see just a few of our favorite posts from the past year.

We are sad to report that Brother Robbie, a discipleship coordinator, died in the ICU after being in a car accident while returning from a training event. Please pray for his team and his loved ones as they mourn his loss. “He was a warrior for the Gospel,” they say. (Exodus 4-6)

Our team in Serbia visited about 500 migrants crossing into the European Union from the Middle East. Our workers provided packets of food, socks, hygiene products and the Gospel. A return visit is already being planned. Please pray for God’s love to refresh the hearts of migrant families. (Exodus 7-9)

A government agency in this closed nation recently investigated our National Director. Thankfully, all went well, and no problems arose. Praise the Lord for His mercy, and please pray for His continued protection of this team. (Exodus 10-12)

In India, 24 people were trained in discipleship. “I am personally blessed by this program,” one said. “I have decided to share the Good News with as many people as I come in contact with.” Please pray for the interactions these new evangelists will have with others to be fruitful. (Psalms 18-20)

When 12-year-old Mercela joined an evangelism outreach in her Mexican community, she thought, “What am I going to do?” So she invited her friends to join her, and her friends’ parents came along. Praise God for using a little girl to inspire others to share the Gospel. (Exodus 22-24)

While following up with a spiritual seeker, our workers were surprised to find the New Testament they had given him worn and well-read. This man still has serious questions, but he is digging into the Word of God. Please pray for the Spirit to move in his heart.(Exodus 25-27)

During a systematic outreach, pioneer missionaries met a man who said he owned three blocks of the city. “We told him that he is rich materially, then asked if he had anything for his soul,” one reported. Then our workers shared the Gospel with this man. Please pray for him to find Christ. (Exodus 13-15)

In Uganda, 150 schoolchildren gave their lives to Jesus. “Using The Heart of Man Chart has proven to be the most effective way to share the Gospel,” says one of our workers. Please pray for these children to grow in their faith and to take the Gospel home to their families. (Exodus 16-18)

Please pray for two new believers who have converted to Christianity out of traditional belief systems. It will be a difficult transition for them to distinguish their new beliefs from their old. Pray for God to give them clarity, understanding and a supportive church community. (Exodus 19-21)

Gospel workers in Romania volunteered to serve refugees in a nearby camp. They distributed food, Christian literature, New Testaments and — most importantly — hope. Please pray that the connections they make and the love they show will open the hearts of many to the Gospel. (Exodus 28-30)

Our evangelists in Burkina Faso praise God for recent peaceful political developments. Please pray for security in their country so that our workers and their families will remain safe and the Gospel can go forth unhindered. (Exodus 31-33)

Our work in Jamaica is still new, and the first male pioneer missionary just joined the outreach team. Please pray that other Christian men will follow his example and take on the task of the Great Commission in this island nation. (Exodus 34-37)

Gospel workers in East Siberia held a children’s celebration for families in the Kansky District. After doing a home-to-home outreach, they invited the community to play games and hear a gospel message. Please pray that the families who participated will put their faith in Jesus. (Exodus 38-40)

Winston was unemployed and an alcoholic when EHC workers knocked on his door. “They preached the Good News,” he says. “And I understood that God would save me and deliver me from hopelessness.” Please pray for Winston as he grows in his new faith.(Psalms 21-23)

Our workers in this nation recently placed an evangelistic column in a local newspaper, and it was printed. Please pray for all the people who will read this column. Pray that the Spirit would move in their hearts and bring them to faith. (Leviticus 1-3)

DAILY PRAYER WATCH

DEM. REP. CONGOVillage chiefs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo recently gave our workers permission to share the Gospel. They said they want their people to know the true God. Praise the Lord for this favor, and pray that the hearts of the people will be open to receive the Good News. (Leviticus 4-6)

Our workers in Spain conducted an outreach in Santurtzi and handed out 3,000 pieces of gospel literature. They even gave one to the mayor when they met him walking in the park. Please pray for this team as they follow up with 32 adults and 18 teenagers who wanted to know more about Jesus. (Leviticus 7-9)

Please pray for God to comfort one of our Christ Group leaders in Cambodia. His wife recently passed away. Pray also for his seven-year-old daughter to be comforted during this difficult time. (Leviticus 10-12)

Last month, 68 Venezuelan churches committed to participate in home-to-home evangelism to reach 15,000 families with the Gospel! Please pray that the Holy Spirit will lead the way to prepare the hearts of the people these volunteers will meet. (Leviticus 19-21)

Close to 100 people in Kenya have signed up for discipleship training. “We trust that they will grow in the things of God and be able to teach others also,” writes a discipleship trainer. Please pray for these new believers to grow closer to their Savior and share the Gospel with their neighbors. (Leviticus 22-24)

Every Home for Christ Croatia hit a major milestone: 100,000 gospel messages have been shared within their country! “It is such a joy to know that 100,000 homes in Croatia have had the opportunity to hear about Jesus’ salvation!” they write. Praise the Lord! (Leviticus 25-27)

During a home-to-home outreach in Tanzania, people desperate for the Gospel ran up to our workers. “Do not forget us,” they said. “Remember us, servants of God!” Praise God for preparing the way for our workers, and pray that these ready hearts will put their faith in Jesus. (Leviticus 13-15)

It can be difficult to receive responses to the Gospel in this nation, but two new believers recently joined the ministry. Please pray for their spiritual growth and that they would remain strong in their faith. And pray for others in this country to respond to the Gospel as well. (Leviticus 16-18)

Thirty-one young volunteers from more than 10 churches took the Gospel to nine tribal Sherpa villages in Nepal. Though the terrain was difficult — there is no flat land in the area — they managed to reach every home. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of the villagers they met. (Psalms 24-26)

Our workers in East Timor ask for prayer as they conduct outreaches. “May we serve together and win souls for God,” they write. Please pray for God to lead our evangelists and prepare the hearts of those they will meet to receive the Gospel. (Numbers 1-3)

Workers in Lesotho recently formed a new Christ Group of about nine new believers eager to learn more about Jesus. Their hope is for the group to grow to 25 people. Please pray for their understanding of God’s Word to deepen and their faith to mature in this Christian community. (Numbers 4-6)

Our office in this closed country is often visited by police checking on its operations. When this happens, our workers have to hide their Bibles and gospel literature. Please pray for God to give them wisdom to know the best place to store their materials during these inspections. (Numbers 7-9)

Our team set up a booth at the Salamander Days Festival in Banská Štiavnica, Slovakia, right next to the main stage in Trinity Square. Their intriguing display drew many curious people to the table. Please pray that the people our workers met would put their faith in Jesus. (Psalms 27-29)

ne of the most rewarding moments for our

workers around the globe is the baptism of a new believer. Whether it’s done in a large church or a brand new Christ Group, in a public city pool or a rural river, being baptized is the first step each person takes on the path of following Jesus. Our workers love to celebrate these milestones with us through photos and stories.
