DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE EVENT:

Department of Electronics Engineering, G.H. Raisoni College of

Engineering, Nagpur had organized National Conference on “VLSI

Design, Embedded System &Signal Processing” [NCVDES-13] in

association with Cadence India, Entuple Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore

and GHR Labs on 25th to 26th September 2013.

The conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to

discuss the latest advancements and future directions in the areas of VLSI

design, Embedded systems & Signal processing. This is an area that

requires continuous research and development. The conference had good

discussion on the quality research findings of various research scholars

working in the allied micro area of the theme of conference. This is an high

level technical gathering includes budding researchers, established experts

and the experience industrial persons to exchange their ideas and research

findings. This is also an excellent platform to the students those attended,

to take motivation and research problems for their further work.

There will be 8 technical sessions for the presentations, one keynote

session followed by two workshops. The workshop on Xilinx will be

conducted by CG Corel on date 27th

Sept and two days workshop on

CADENCE EDA tool will be conducted by Cadence India and Entuple

Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Banglore on 30th

Sep. to 1st Oct.2013.

The conference was inaugurated by the hands of Mr. Nitin Bahl, Country

Marketing Manager-India, Motorola Solutions. He pointed out the need of

research and solution finding for real time industrial problems. Dr. Preeti

Bajaj, Director of GHRCE focuses on need of national conferences for

research findings and patents during her speech. Deputy Director

Dr.P.B.Nagarnaik and Dr. A.Y.Deshmukh, Dean R&D Dr. S.B. Jaju, Head

of Electronics Engineering Dr.S.S.Dorle and convener of National

Conference Prof. Shubhangi Giripunje also present for the inaugural

ceremony of the event.

Prof. Shubhangi Giripunje welcomes all the participants and gave thanks to

Shri Sunilji Raisoni, Smt. Shobhaji Raisoni for their kind support. She also

conveys her thanks for cooperation to the all faculty members.

Event Title: Workshop on” Xilinx DSP Design

Flow”

workshop on “Xilinx DSP Design Flow”

DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE EVENT:

Department of Electronics Engineering organized a one day workshop on

Xilinx DSP Design Flow in collaboration with Coreel technologies Pune.

The basic aim of workshop was to explore the basics of DSP with

Matlab,simulink,system generator,filter designing alongwith Xilinx design

software. Mr Mayur Deshmukh was the resource person of the

workshop.He is a senior application engineer in Coreel technologies Pune

with a rich experience of around five years. He has almost conducted

thirty workshops in India. He has done B.E. in Electronics &

Communication branch. He has finished his post graduation in VLSI Design

from Jaypee Univarsity,Noida and also visited abroad several times for

training purpose. Prof.P.H.Rangaree was the coordinator of the workshop along

with Mr.Pawan Raut & Mr Nitin Patil.The workshop was organized in Embedded

lab.Twenty four participants enthusiastically participated in the event out of

which many more participants were from different colleges of Vidarbha region.

The inaugural of the event started at 9.45 am sharp at the hands of

Dr.A.Y.Deshmukh. Dr.S.S.Dorle, HoD(Electronics), Prof.S.D.Giripunje were also

present during the inaugural event.

Two day Workshop on “VLSI Design Using Cadence EDA Tools”

Organized in Electronics Engineering Department at GHRCE.

DESCRIPTION ABOUT THE EVENT:

Department of Electronics Engineering organized a two day workshop on “VLSI

Design Using Cadence EDA Tools" in association with Entuple Technologies

Pvt.Ltd. Banglore on 30th September and 1

st October 2013. The aim of workshop

was to give an overview and experience to the participants on the state-of-the art

EDA tool for VLSI Design. This workshop comprised of lectures delivered by

Mr.Srikar Talla, senior application engineer, Entuple Technologies Pvt.Ltd.

Banglore and Mr. Venugopal D. Kulkarni, Technology Consultant CMOS VLSI

Design Banglore followed by hands-on training on CMOS Analog and Digital

design. Resource persons have rich experience of conducting workshop and actual

design under said environment. Mr.Srikar Talla is working as senior application

engineer in Entuple Technologies Pvt.Ltd.since five years.His responsibilities

involves technical demonstrations, pre-post sale support resolving queries for

EDA Tools like Cadence, Xilinx, Electronics Design and System tools for Altium

and mentor Graphics. Mr. Venugopal Kulkarni has over 27 years of academic and

industry experience.He has experience in the Analog-Mixed Signal Circuit

Design and System Engineering and comes with hands-on experience in the

domain of device modeling, Analog circuit design & simulation, PLLs, Control

System Modeling, Custom Digital Design and characterization. He is amongst the

first two IIT’ans in India to have tapped out a chip.

Co-ordinator of workshop was Prof. A.D.Tete along with the team of

Mr.Deepanshu Payasi, and Mr.Rakshit Rangari.This event was organized in F-

21(seminar hall) and E-28(VLSI Lab) for lectures and hands-on. Twenty nine

participants could take advantage of workshop.Inaugural of workshop started at

9.45am Dr A.Y.Deshmukh, Deputy Director GHRCE, Dr.S.S.Dorle, Head of

Electronics Engg. Dept., Dr.D.V.Padole, Mr. Srikar Talla, Mr. Shatrughan

Ransubhe and Mr. Vikas Khare of Entuple Technologies were present during the

Inaguration.

Workshop for coordinators on “Signals and System”. The workshop was

under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) MHRD

government of India. The G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering is a Remote

Centre for distance education. The workshop was conducted by IIT,

Kharagpur during 30th

September to 4th

October 2013. She will be

coordinator for the workshop, which will held during 2nd

Giripunje is working Associate Professor in Department of Electronics

Engineering, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. The presented work

titled as “A Design & Implementation of Facial Action Tracking and Emotion

Recognition based on Non-Intrusive Parameters” carried out under the guidance

of Dr. P.R.Bajaj, Director, G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. The work

has selected amongst hundreds; only best 9 has been shortlisted. There were 2

tutorial sessions are arranged. Tutorial 1 was given by Prof. Paolo Fiorini,

University of Verona, Italy on ‘Robotic Surgery’ and Tutorial 2 was given by Prof.

Kenji Suzuki, University of Tsukuba, Japan on ‘Understanding Human Intension-

Rehabilitation Robotics and Robot Assisted Activities’ and 9 Ph.D young

researcher presentations and discussions were conducted.
