Message from Dr Amit:

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to all of you. I would like to thank you for supporting and providing sponsorship for Tanjore Marathon 2014. Your support has been instrumental in our quest to promote running as a sport in Thanjavur region.

The Founders of ProHEALTH Foundation have conducted 4 events in Thanjavur geography during a period of last one year. We have learned a lot during the process and tried to understand what best we can do promote the sport and Thanjavur as running destination in coming year. Apart from that we want to promote active lifestyles for all age groups in the region. As you know Tamilnadu has high burden of chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, so its important we spread awareness among everyone to be active and especially spread awareness among children at an early age. We have just started our journey and there are many more thing to be done. We look forward to your support in future.

Dr Amit MBBS, MS-Johns Hopkins University, Ironman Triathlete and Marathoner

- Thanjavur Range Police for making impeccable arrangements

- NCC & NSS support for traffic management during the event

- Youth Exnora for mobilizing volunteers for waste management activity.

“I think in this way you will help make a difference to lots of people in a country where sports facilities and exercise consciousness are still so limited, perhaps especially in smaller towns.” Siddhartha Menon, Principal, Rishi Valley School
