I am Annie McIntyre. I have a degree in interior design from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design. My goal is to work with a dynamic group of people utilizing both my interior designeducation, event planning skills and experience. In this booklet, you will find examples of events that I have planned during the last two years.

ThemedEvents

Well planned themed events create an atmosphere that transports guests to another place and/or time for a special celebration. This event was an autumn lobster bake - a yearly tradition for a group of twenty friends - designed to transform the exterior patio area of a beautiful, contemporary home in Colorado into a sophisticated Maine seaside retreat.

Page 6: Event Portfolio

The table, dressed in burlap and scattered with sand and seashells, became a beach setting for simple white dinnerware and utensils gathered in mini-buckets with nautical napkins.

Page 7: Event Portfolio

By arranging the tables facing one another in a rectangle, guests were able to interact comfortably throughout the dinner while experiencing the beautiful views. The arrangement created an unanticipiated and heart warming exchange among long time friends.

Lobsters and vegetables were cooked in seaweed on sand over an open fire. Rich blue fabrics provided the perfect background for candles, wine and flowers arranged in rope covered pots.

A variety of seafood appetizers further enhanced the seaside theme.

As evening fell, the entire area was aglow with candlelight and hundreds of mini-lights, creating a warm, intimate environment.

Wedding

Wedding

As a series of events - from pre-wedding showers and parties to the ceremony and reception - wedding planning is all about the details; and this outdoor, summer wedding in the Rocky Mountains reflected the couple’s personalities and philosophies in every detail.

Page 14: Event Portfolio

Red rose petals scattered down the aisle formed a heart shaped altar for the bride and groom to share their vows.

Page 15: Event Portfolio

Fifty wedding guests joined the outdoor celebration where bridesmaids carried red umbrellas and groomsmen wore black shoes with red laces.

Page 16: Event Portfolio

The bride’s sophisticated color scheme, red, black and purple, was integrated into the natural setting of a quaint Rocky Mountain country inn.

Page 17: Event Portfolio

From hiring all vendors, creation of floral arrangements, coordination of transportation, entertainment, set-up and breakdown for the outdoor ceremony and on site supervision of all wedding related events, my goal was to create a truly memorable celebration.

Page 18: Event Portfolio

Working closely with the bride and groom, I translated their ideas into a simple, elegant and envi-ronmentally responsible wedding concept and design.

Page 19: Event Portfolio

Per the wedding concept/design, the reception featured simple, natural table arrangements.

Flower arrangements for the reception tables included a combination of local flowers chosen to enhance the wedding colors and theme.

Cupcakes in a variety of the couple’s favorite flavors topped off the elegant cuisine of gourmet foods, including vegetarian options.

Conference

Conference

Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design hosted a four-day international conference for the Cumulus International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media. Iprovided planning and coordination to meet the unique requirements for the multiple meeting spaces, event staging, dining venues, technology, music vendors and related details.

From Understanding to Design and Back Again, brought 350 international educators to the RMCAD Lakewood, Colorado campus and other venues in the Denver area. White tents placed in strategic locations across RMCAD’s 23 acre campus provided information, al fresco dining and informal areas for impromptu guest meetings and gatherings.

The international attendees enjoyed a traditional western barbecue while being welcomed by the Mayor of Lakewood, Colorado.

Small meeting rooms were coordinated with the hotel to accommodate discussions.

The Hyatt Hotel ballroom provided the perfect large venue for keynote addresses and othergatherings.

A series of catered, evening cocktail parties held at famous Denver venues, including the Denver Art Museum, were coordinated to introduce conference attendees to the region.

Working with the Denver Art Museum and the caterers, food and beverage stations were strategically placed on multiple floors of the museum.

CharityEvent

CharityEvent

The only thing better than planning a great event is planning one that benefits a worthy cause. I have planned and coordinated Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design’s annual RMCYCLE charity art auction event for three years. The event - which benefits a local non-profit community organization – features unique art made by local artists.

Page 34: Event Portfolio

My role as event planner for this event included working closely with the charity, soliciting, receiving and displaying artwork and other donations, coordination of catering, ticket sales and the silent art auction.

RMCAD’s historic Rotunda Building serves as the setting for the annual event. The Rotunda’s round floor plan creates a unique and challenging opportunity to showcase the sustainable artwork.

Page 36: Event Portfolio

RMCAD art and design students and faculty created a variety of art from recycled, reused and repurposed materials.

Page 37: Event Portfolio

RMCYCLE’s mission is to increase awareness of the life-changing impact that one person can have on the planet through the promotion of sustainability through art and design to create these designs.

Event Layouts

My degree and experience in interior design allows me to create event space plans that encourage interaction and enhance the unique functions of each event. Working with challenging, multifunctional spaces is my specialty. I used my technical skills in CAD, Revit and Sketch Up to carry these designs out.
