Researching similar products

I first began researching into soaps when I created a video edited from scenes in Coronation Street. I used a variety of angles and shots to edit my trailer together from this piece of soap. I also added a music track on in the background to entice my demographic and related it to the genre of the soap.

I researched into Hollyoaks when making my first own soap trailer. I recreated a scene from an episode of hollyoaks. This allowed me to begin to understand about what different angles are used in soaps and what works best.

Researching into similar products

I used a lot of my research from YouTube as it provided my with current footage of soaps that are currently aired. YouTube was also very helpful when I began filming for my own soap trailer as it provided me with a basis to base my soap around. I was then able to make comparisons with my soap trailer to a real life one.

4od was also very useful to research into different soaps as it had many hollyoaks episodes ready to watch which allowed me to expand my research into this genre of soap.

Google was another helpful website which allowed me to make comparisons between different soap media pieces such as front covers and posters. This then went on to help me with my own versions of these types of media.

Using SlideshareSlideshare enabled me to upload my powerpoint work onto my blog. This made them a lot easier to read and understand on my blog.

Using Blogspot

I used the website blogspot to create my own blog, which I when used to upload all of my media work and soap work to. This provided an easy and accessible way to read and look through all of my work on my soap trailer, front cover and billboard poster.

Using social networking sites like Facebook

I decided to used social networking sites such as Facebook to communicate with the rest of my group that I filmed with because I found it to be very easy and is very popular with younger people, therefore they were more likely to reply and respond to my question. This allowed filming to be done on time and gave me more time to get on with my other products such as my front cover and billboard poster.
