Represent particular social groups?

My pop magazine represents young teenagers. I’ve done this through my front cover by making my artist look young and innocent but is also clearly older then my target audience.

My target audience is aimed at people like thisAs you can see they age from 13-16. You can see that they are wearing light colours I have used these colours in my magazine (pink, blue). Looking at the artist in the images you can see what their fan base is. This is why I have used both artist in my front cover or content page. You can also tell that it mainly girls hence why my target audience is girls. You can also see that they don't wear a lot of make up and don't look aggressive my artist has very little make-up on and is smiling.

They way their fans dress is also causal nothing dressy, even Ariana is slightly casual. My artist is over dress she is in a casual top for both images. You can tell that my fan base doesn’t look rich.

As you can see most pop magazines have their artist centred and usually is a close up/mid shot. This is because teenagers like to be distracted and if an image is big and bold it stands out to them, this is why I have a mid shot. It is always why I have used different fonts/sizes and colour it to draw my target audience into all features in the magazine. Graphics also help. Graphics is usually linked to girls who like to doodle e.g. hearts, starts, geometric shapes which is why I used graphics in my magazine. Hearts will usually be in a pop magazine because it represents

the playfulness in the magazine it is targeted to 13-16 year old girls who usually draw heart or like hearts, teenaged girls like “Cute” things which is why pop magazines use them. It relates to them and its why they attract this target audience and it is also why I used it in my magazine.

My magazine contains a “The Hot Summer Look” I don’t this because its something my target audience would like. ‘Pop’ means popular therefore my target audience wants to know what the most popular look of summer is this year.

It is also the same reason why I have got the top 5 songs in the pop charts in my content page it represents pop and give my target audience what they want to know.

All my images are age appropriate for my target audience. Their facial expression are happy and they look like their having fun which is what pop music is about. I believe my magazine has this look which means I have correctly representing my magazine for my genre of pop and have considered my social group in every pinch of my magazine.
