What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this product?

During the process of making my music magazine there are many things I have learnt to use. The main technology that I used was Photoshop CS5. I used Photoshop to create my whole media product whether it be changing the hair and makeup of my model or cropping images and adding text. All the basic needs to create a magazine. I am going to show how I learnt to change the hair colour and make up of my model because that is what I frequently had to do to each image of my model that I put into my magazine.

First I opened up my image on Photoshop CS5, Ready to change her hair colour.

Then create a new layer so if any mistakes are made you can just delete the layer instead of the whole image.

Also select the paint brush on the toolbar at the side.

Select the colour option at the bottom of the tool bar and once the colour you want is selected (I chose Orange for my models hair colour) then click OK.

When the brush tool is selected at the top there is another brush giving you the choice to change to consistency. Click the blurred brush type for a more realistic hair look and colour.

Before you colour the models hair click the arrow where it says ‘Normal’ and select the option that says ‘Soft Light’ this adds a more natural and real look to their hair.

Then carefully start to colour the models hair making sure you colour in all of the hair.

If you get any of the colour on their face then use the eraser tool to carefully rub out the mistakes.

Once you have coloured all of the models hair. Go back to the colour options and pick a darker colour that will go with the colour you have already used (I chose to use a dark red.)

If you feel you might make a mistake when adding the new colour then create another layer to be sure. But I decided not to.

There is my finished transformation of hair colour. The darker colour on top has added a more realistic colour and adds a nice textured look to her hair.
