EDITING & CAMERAWORK When looking back at my preliminary task, I feel as if I have progressed with,

how to get good camera angles and how to edit scenes together.

When it came to the pre production of my preliminary task, I didn’t consider planning as much and didn’t really consider lighting and to film more than one shot. But when it came to our thriller opening I felt as if I have learnt a lot as I was more aware of the different types of camera angles and that we had to shoot more than one shot for the different scenes.

The filming as well wasn’t to its best because as a group we wasn’t that aware of the different types cameras and how to use them. Looking back at my preliminary task I think that I could have done better, but at the time I wasn’t to sure how to create good camera angles but I was sure as to use the different types of camera types we had to use which was: 180 degree rule, match on action and shot reverse shot.

WHAT WAS SUCCESSFUL?I think the things that went successful were:

o Finishing the tasko Using all the different camera typeso Using the camera efficiently o How to set up the equipmento Using lighting in an effective way – shot wasn’t too dark

When it came to planning our preliminary task I wrote out a plan in which we may have completed the filming. I wrote out some dialogue but unfortunately we didn’t really stick to the plan.

WHAT WAS LESS SUCCESSFUL?I think the things that were least successful were:

o Not a variety of different camera angleso Not having loads of knowledge of the equipmento Spend more time planningo Having more than one shot for a scene as then there is more variety

when it comes to editing

HOW DID YOU IMPROVE UPON EACH OF THESE AREAS WHEN MAKING YOUR THRILLER? I planned more and done more research as we wanted our thriller

opening to be the best it can be When it came to researching for pre production, I asked my target

audience questions which helped us to improve our ideas We had more experience with the equipment so that we could use it

more effectively For each shot we used more than one filming as when it came to

editing there is more of a choice with the best shot Using the programmes for editing and for creating music effectively

for our thriller opening

CAMERA WORK

This image is from our preliminary task using the over the head shot, I feel as if I have progressed from this.

This image is from our thriller opening and from this image I feel as if I have improved as this over the head shot looks more clearer and more effective.
