RESEARCH & PLANNING

This has benefited greatly when I was doing my preliminary task. The first step of creating my real music magazine I carried out a planning

sheet, which help me to plan ever part of Mise en scene, lighting techniques, use of colour, make up and location. The process of

comparing two magazines from indie magazines helped my planning process of how I will structure the layout of my music magazine.

I focused on one magazine to make my front cover which I shouldn’t have done, only focused on the layout of the front cover magazine. Going to Photoshop lessons help me to implement my front cover

using the Photoshop techniques. During the planning I first carried out a practise school magazine which helped to make my music

magazine as I used way more Photoshop techniques compared to my school magazine.

Researching about other indie magazine helped me to know more knowledge about what features a music magazine contain. Finding out how many they sell for each issue will help me to decide what price would be suitable for my target audience & lastly finding out how often they come out is very important as it helped me to organise what sort of things to put on my contents page and double page spread.

PHOTO TESTING

Photoshop enabled me to learn how to use different tools to do various techniques which were new to me, Photoshop also helped me to edit my pictures effectively.

Canon enabled me to take professional photos which helped when making my magazine as I didn’t have to update.

The time management for my preliminary task was a minor problem. The models intended to be used for my photo

shoots originally were unable to fulfil this as our free time in and outside college differed greatly. I overcame this by rearranging my models who were free when I was which

allowed me to carry on with the production of my products

Before the production of my coursework, I made sure beforehand the models I assigned could fulfil my requests

which made my time management much easier.
