evaluation question 6 presentation
DESCRIPTION
This is for my AS Media Film evaluation question 6. Just uploading it on here to post on my blog...TRANSCRIPT
WHAT HAVE I LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
By Zachary Goodchild
Here is the camera I filmed my opening scene with... I found this video camera
very easy to use, and found the filming quality was great.
When I filmed my preliminary film I used a non-digital video camera, where as this one has a digital storage system. This was an improvement as it was much easy to import what I had filmed onto iMovie (the film editing software I used.
If I were to film another movie I would definitely use this camera again.
This is the tripod I used to keep the camera still... This tripod was very suitable for
its purpose. While using this tripod I found it had many different settings you could adjust it to. It could extend its legs to 3 different lengths and you can change the head trajectory vertically and horizontally.
I only filmed the POV shot and the boy’s memories without this tripod so it was very useful.
Technologies used as a prop... To the right is a cropped
screenshot from my opening scene, where the boy uses an iPod Touch.
This prop was used to show the boy putting on a song which stayed on for the rest of the scene.
I found that this didn’t completely go to plan as it was meant to be clear him and his girlfriend were the background, and he chose a song from the folder ‘Mine and Abi’s song’.
What equipment and software did I use to edit my opening scene? To the right is the Apple Mac I used to
edit my movie with its built in software ‘iMovie’. When I started to use this software I had to figure everything out for the first time but this program made it very easy for a beginner. However, as I used it my skills still increased and I developed tricks such as transitions.
In terms of time, I improved greatly and when it came to actually editing my final product I was very swift.
Editing techniques I developed using iMovie...Adding sound to movies.
Adding text to movies.
Arranging my movie on the time bar.
Adding transition to movies.
And more!
Editing a certain passage of film, text over it, or sound in certain ways.
I had to adjust the levels of audio. Such as when dialogue came in and the soundtrack ducking in and out.
