  1. 1. Evaluation Question 2How does your media productrepresent particular social groups?
  2. 2. How an artist looks tells us what people think of them as aperson e.g. sexy, aggressive, innocent, powerful, wealthyetc. So in my media product I made sure my model islooking away from the camera to show he is serious andnot interested, also the model is not smiling has a veryserious expression and also has his arms crossed in thedouble-paged spread. This could give the impressionthat the artist is very aggressive or violent. The use ofblack and white also adds to the effect of seriousness.
  3. 3. Social Group The social group/target audience for mymagazine will be aimed at teenagersbetween the ages of 13-19. Majority ofteenagers between the ages of 13-19 listento mainly mainstream R&B so therefore thiswould be a very popular magazine forteenagers. This magazine is primarily aimedat males rather than females as it containsvery masculine content.
  4. 4. MOOD BOARD In my Mood board I have artist with expressions which are very serious , it is usually the male artists who have the serious expressions and poses. Also there are a few pictures which are in black and white with artists looking away from the camera. A very common prop for male R&B rappers and artists is the baseball cap. The background the artist is in is usually just a plain background, it brings all the attention to the artist. The artists may also be shown as sexy e.g. Trey Songz is topless which allows him to show his muscular features which is appealing to women. The pictures of the models are usually taking at a close angle so that you can have a good view of the expressions of the artist. Some artists may be shown as intimidating e.g. Lil Wayne as he has direct eye contact with the camera at a medium close up in black and white. Many artists also have tattoos over their body. In comparison to my magazine I ensured my model has a serious expression and is also looking away from the camera. I used the Lil Wayne picture for ideas so I applied the same black and white effect for my front cover and contents page. I also added the popular baseball cap, another prop I added was the headphones. Many rappers use headphones whenever they are recording their songs or in the studio room editing the songs.
