The preliminary was very helpful as it thought me how to use the camera to create different atmospheres and moods. For example, using close ups or extreme close ups to emphasise someone or something. The preliminary also made it easier to edit our film.

There was only one short scene were we used continuity and match on action. However it was easy for us as we had done it before in our preliminary exercise.

The preliminary helped me understand and put into practice the 180 degree rule which is very important part of filming.

We did not use any shot reverse shots as we didn’t introduce any other character in our opening. However our preliminary exercise helped us understand it.

This is an example of continuity in our preliminary exercise.

We used continuity in this scene in the opening title sequence.

Shot reverse shot in our preliminary exercise.

In our final piece, we experimented with a variety of shots. For example close ups, low angle shots, high angle and wide shots. We found it easy as we had used these kinds of shots in our preliminary task.

Our story was more detailed than the preliminary exercise as we were not restricted as to what we could do. This allowed us to experiment with the use of music, voice over and setting.

We used final cut pro to edit our preliminary so we found it easier to edit our opening title sequence.

This is a wide shot.

This is a low angle shot.
