Pros• First off, we have a video of

how to properly interview someone for a documentary

• Straight afterwards, we have the interview with professional Docu-Film maker Nick Hamer.

• This is split into two videos; one dealing with the interview itself, and the other with Nick Hamer’s top tips for budding documentary film makers

• The final video deals with separate focus-groups. These were done in separate styles of ‘interview’ to reflect what we had learnt from the interview with Nick Hamer

Cons• There is not a lot of text.

Although too much text is a bad thing, it does leave all the explanation to the four videos inserted into the post

• Additionally, there is not much ‘response’ to the initial video, which would help show that the student (i.e. me) has acknowledged the information provided by the video

Pros• There are multiple uses of

quotes taken from books written by a particular theorist (e.g. T.E.Perkins), with content relevant to the post. This is then explained in my own words, using examples from the product

• There is also details concerning three major narrative theories, which are applied to the product, and explained

• At the end, there is the use of a video to help simplify these narrative theories, and apply them creatively to the product subject (i.e. the police in Leicester)

Cons• This post is arguably

very text heavy. Although there is a video at the end to ‘simplify’ the theories, the sheer amount of text does appear overwhelming.

Pros• Each idea is clearly laid

out, and summed up through pros and cons

• Although each idea is different, there are key conventions of an action film which are inside each ‘idea’ (e.g. police figures)

Cons• TOO MUCH TEXT!• There was a possibility

here for creativity to be explored through the use of different media styles.– For example, the separate

narrative ideas could be shown in separate videos, each using stop-motion lego to give an idea of how it would look like.

– Or even have the information presented on a slideshow presentation

Cons• In terms of research, this is a disaster.• Although I have obtained sources of information

relating to ‘current’ events, there is no in depth analysis of any of these articles

• There are no videos examining the content, there are no slideshows of images of the articles, and there is no analysis at all of the content

• Realistically, this can definitely be presented better. There is no obvious connection to the product either, only a small paragraph at the bottom summarizing that the ‘current’ attitude towards police is divided in response to the handling of the riots.
