Most magazines have their masthead at the top of the page. I followed this convention and put my masthead at the top of the page.

Both of these magazines have their Masthead at the top of the page.

I’ve used the same convention so my front cover looks similar to the existing magazines. I didn’t want to change this convention because many well known magazines use this so I wanted to follow it.

I had a colour scheme of Black, red and white. Most magazines have a colour scheme because they look better than using any colours randomly and not following a pattern throughout the magazine.

I’ve used these three colours which are shown well in the contents page, with yellow as well for things that I want to stand out.

Kerrang! has a colour scheme of black white and yellow. It makes things clear to read.

I’ve used a close up of a face which is looking at the camera for my front cover. Most magazines do this because it grabs the reader’s attention and makes them look at the magazine.

In my double page spread I've used some posed photos under the article. Some magazines do this in the double page spread so I followed that convention and did it too.

These are posed photos used in the double page spread around the main article.

Magazines usually have a consistent font throughout the pages so I have done this too. For the main article, the headings in the contents page and for captions on the front cover I have used the same font. For the smaller writing I have used the same font but not bold. It looks better than having lots of different fonts on different pages and it looks more organised.

I have used the same font for all these headings and for the main article.

I have used a barcode on my front cover and page numbers inside the magazine because this is what existing magazines have and I wanted to use these in mine too to make it look as realistic as possible. I’ve put a band across the bottom of my magazine which tells the reader other artists that are featured in the magazine. Most magazines do this to attract the reader to buy their magazine.

Kerrang! Uses this idea of having a band across the bottom of their front cover and I

have used the same convention and put it on mine too.
