Evaluation of myschool magazine

Throughout my magazine I have followed the codes and conventions by using a medium close up which is the type of camera shot used on most magazines. However My magazine does not contain a puff or buzz word as I wasn’t sure how to fit it in.

The cover lines are in bold colour to stand out and attract the audience and make them look inside.

My main coverline does not does not go with the main image and does not anchor the meaning of the image.

I also could have put quotes from the inside of the magazine, I have put the web address on the top while the coverlines and masthead frame the picture with no text on the face.

On the contents page I have followed the codes and conventions by using one main image on the far right.

To make my contents page I used Quark Xpress I have not used this programme before and found it quite difficult to get used to using all the tools I then set the page into 3 columns across the page

The page has regulars and I tried to fit a small competition on the page. However I have not used page numbers on the images to guide the readers.

Also for my music magazine I will try to put more text on the contents page so there are no big spaces on there.

I think that one of my weaknesses was using Quark Xpress however I felt quite confident using

Photoshop to construct my front cover.

I will also try to make my main image on the front cover relate to the main coverline.
