I have used the following technologies:

Microsoft PowerPoint

Adobe Photoshop CS3

Adobe InDesign CS3

Microsoft Word

Photoshop CS3 Adding the drop

shadow effect to my masthead made it look a lot more eye catching and also adds a sense of professionalism.

Photoshop CS3 I used the Magnetic

Lasso tool to cut out the top of his head.

I then ended up with this ^ Which adds mysteriousness to the

masthead.

shows that just changing the levels in Photoshop can make a image look a lot better and eye catching.

Photoshop CS3 For the colour of some

of my cover lines I used the colour of the US Dollar to get the exact colour of this I put a picture of a Dollar in Photoshop and used the ‘Eyedropper’ tool which picks out the colour of whatever you have clicked on.

Columns is a typical convention of magazines and would look wrong without them, this is why I added them to my magazine.

Another typical media convention is a DropCap, Many magazines adopt this convention.

When I asked my focus group which they thought was the better magazine they said that the music magazine was a lot better.
