What have you learnt from you audience

feedback?

In this PowerPoint you will clearly see how I efficiently used comments and

feedback from classmates and teachers in order to improve my music video.

Good:

• Green Screen use is good

• Performance scenes look confident

• Well synced to music

Improve:

• Needs more shot type variety

• Hands disappear on green screen shots

• More narrative - to make sense of what is

happening

From this feedback we planned to correct many things and to also keep others. We re-filmed lots of the narrative in order for the

story to make sense.

We also included more variety when it came to shot types:

Good:

• Fast Paced

Editing

• Scenes cut to the

beat

Improve:

•Lighting

• Narrative becomes repetitive

• Too many mid shots

• Too much green screen shots

From this feedback we realised we had too many mid shots. Therefore we re-

filmed some close ups and long shots. By filming in front of the black screen we also managed to reduce the amount of

green screen we had.

Good:

• Green Screen use is good (matches

genre)

• Effective performance

shots

• Good editing

Improve:

• Lighting

• Some green scene shots

• Edit odd bits that are out of sync

• More narrative needed for sense of

‘flow’

• More variety of shots needed

The constructive critisism from this person was helpful as it reinforced the fact the

narrative had to be refilmed which we did do. Within my section of the music video I also made sure there were no bits out of sync!

Good:

• Cheesy

• Fits genre

•Edited well

• Good use of green screen

Improve:

• Lighting

• Hands disappear in green screen

• More narrative is needed

I was concerned with the fact the hands disappeared within the music

video as it looked unprofessional. Although the majority of those

sections were removed I did manage to edit the eight-pint garbage setting and make sure the hands stayed in

shot in certain sections.

Good:

• Seemed like a girl-band

• Good costumes

• Fit the genre

Improve:

•Storyline

•Narrative

•Some green screens don’t look

good

•Shadows/Lighting

The lighting issue seemed to come up in lots of people’s improve points. Therefore within my music video

sections I went through carefully and made sure all the lighting improved

and the shadows reduced. Especially on the green screen effect shots. I feel

it made a massive improvement to the overall music video.

Overall I feel all the feedback I received, from viewers of our music video, was taken into

account and was used efficiently to improve the music video. The positive points helped me

to further understand what was particularly like by the audience such as the good framing

and the costumes. The improvement comments helped me to think of ways to

correct my music video to make it what the target audience enjoyed.
