I chose this to be my master shot, as I felt that using a wide shot allows the audience to establish where my location is set. I found that the use of wide shots are conventional when introducing a location. In addition the location is also appropriate for my teaser as the lighting is very good during the night. The water and trees creates a creepy feeling thus portraying the genre of “horror”.

My second shot will be a mid shot of the central character (Rosaline) walking with her back towards the camera. I changed my idea from using a dolly to a hand held camera as a hand held camera helps to illustrate a point of view shot of someone walking, so thus the audience establish that she is being ‘followed’. The reason why I chose to use a mid shot is because it focuses on just the female character, allowing the audience to understand that she is someone important. Moreover from doing my research on teaser trailers, I found that central characters were often introduced by a mid shot.

For my 3rd shot, I will use a close up side shot of the villain. I used a close up shot as i wanted this shot to purely focus on the villain. Using a side shot, exposing nothing but the villain’s nose, creates a sense of mystery to the character and leaves the audience wondering about who this character might be.

Using an extreme close up for this shot will emphasise on the fact that it is the same bag we saw the central female character wear. When the audience hear her phone ring and as she reaches into her bag to get the phone out it allows the audience to immediately associate the phone call to the mysterious strange man who was also on the phone.

A high angle shot will zoom into the phone which will read “unknown”. This allows the audience to establish that the female character doesn’t know who the mysterious man is or the fact that he exists which will inform the audience that ‘something isn't right’.

The use of an extreme long shot using a dolly allows the audience to establish that in fact it is the case that the central female character is being followed by the mysterious man. It also allows the audience to understand that Rosaline (female character) has no idea that she is being followed which also portrays a sense of ‘innocence’ to her character.

Using a mid shot allows the audience to recognize that Rosaline has entered into her home.

I will use a close up, hand held camera to create a point of view shot as it allows the audience to be aware of the fact that someone is looking through Rosaline’s Bathroom window and watching her. Through the editing this shot will dissolve to black..

From where the previous shot dissolves to black, in this shot the black from the villains jacket will zoom out and

finally the audience will establish that he has followed her home and thus ending with a cliff hanger, leaving the audience eager to see more..
