in the evacuation area• Keep students calm and

• Take roll book to check that all students have arrived safely

• Calmly instruct students on what to do and where to go

• Be the last one to leave the classroom

• Close the classroom door• Take roll as soon as we are

in the safe zone• Keep students calm and

safe while we wait for the “all clear” from the office

Students will:• Exit classroom quickly and

quietly• Stay calm and stay in line• Stay with the teacher whose

class you were in• If you are not in a classroom

when severe weather occurs, get with the closest school personnel you can find

• Remain completely silent so that everyone can hear and follow directions safely

• Walk quickly down the right side of the hallway to room 206 (last room on right; Mrs. Singleton’s)

• Go as far back in her classroom as possible and sit on the floor, criss-cross, hands in your lap. You will have to sit close together since there will be 3 classes of 4th graders squeezing in with her class

Lockdown”We are on lockdown” Announcement Will Be Made

Teacher will:• Calmly instruct

students to move to the corner by the sink and remain silent

• Make sure the door is closed and locked

• Make sure all windows are closed, locked, and covered

• Keep students calm, quiet, and safe while we wait for the “all clear” from the office

Students will:• Move to the designated

safe area—in the corner next to the sink (farthest away from line of sight and from doors and windows)

• Sit close together, criss-cross, hands in lap

• Remain completely silent so that no one can hear you

• If you are not in a classroom when a lockdown occurs, get to the closest classroom you can find and follow that teacher’s instructions. He or she will let your homeroom teacher know where you are
