EV3 Lego Robotics Kit Instructions: Inventory & Care of Kits
For Administrators & Instructors As a Whole, this entire document will be used for ensuring that all pieces that are part of a Complete EV3 Lego Robotics Kit are complete within a kit. To ensure the integrity of Kit(s), an inventory will be made by its Administrator(s), prior to its FIRST class, before being given to the Instructor. Please read all of the instructions before attempting inventory if you’re not familiar with a Kit. Once in the hands of the Instructor, the Instructor and Students will be responsible for the Kit assigned to them during their session(s). Students will need to Inventory their assigned Kit after a class has completed. Each Kit will have a sheet for printing the names of the instructors and students assigned to it. It is the Instructors responsibility to make sure that his/her name & students names are recorded on their assigned Kit Sheet. This sheet will help keep track of who is using a Kit during a camp and ensure that each group works to keep their Kit’s pieces together. After a camp is completed and a kit has been inventoried the student’s name list can be discarded, as students are not responsible for replacing parts due to wear and tear. Students will place inventory sheets back into their assigned kits once they have completed their inventories.
New Kit: (For Administrators/Instructors) When inventorying a brand new EV3 Lego Robotics Kit simply place a check mark over the items that are complete within a kit. For any piece or pieces that may be missing draw a circle around them, and then write down the amount of that piece that needs to be replaced. This will ensure of proper replacements when needed.
For Students Inventorying means counting what you have. Read all of the directions before starting your inventory 1 – First look around the floor and make sure you gather up any pieces you may have dropped. 2 – Using the PAPER Inventory sheet, (Not the Inventory Card), look at it, and make sure that all the pieces that are shown on the sheets are in your kit. Make a check mark over the pieces that are there. 3 – If you are missing pieces, circle them and then write down how many need to be replaced. 4 – Gather together all of the Broken or Worn out pieces as you go through your kit and place them in a pile. Keep them close and try not to lose them. Go through the rest of your kit first and then come back to any broken or worn out pieces when you have finished. If you don’t have any broken or worn out pieces, great! Place your Paper Inventory Sheet and your Student Name list back in your kit. Your teacher will let you know what to do next.
Broken & Worn out Parts/Pieces After you’re done going through your entire Kit, take any broken or worn out pieces to your teacher. The Teacher must see the pieces to be able to tell you if you have to put them back in your kit or leave them out of it. Take the Paper Inventory sheet with you. If your teacher has told you that the pieces need to be replaced: Circle those pieces and then WRITE down the AMOUNT that need to be replaced on the Paper Inventory Sheet. Leave these pieces with your teacher. Do not put them back into your kit.
