ABOUT THE SPEAKERSEUSCREEN PLATFORM /


Sanna Marttila / Aalto

is a designer and researcher for digital design and media. Since 2006 Sanna has been a project lead for research, design and development projects in the Arki Research Group. In the EUScreen project she is joined by Kati Hyyppä. The main focus of our work is in the scenarios for re-use, remix and appropiation of the material in everyday life.

is the CTO for this online video company. Noterik has worked on several european projects but is also active in the oral-history and educational market. Daniel has been joined by Rutger Rozendal in this project and several software designers who work on the soon to be opensource spring!eld platform.

Video components have tools to select what is being played (set start and end point). Set the thumbnail that is showed and tag parts of the video for things like search and linking.

Selecting the tag parts tool will open our spatial/time based annotation tool that allows you to add layer information to the timeline.

How do we allow content owners or remixers to set the rights of reuse in "exible ways per collection, video or even parts of video’s. And how do we explain these limitations to end users ?

Can you edit video not based on time but by adding timebased entity information and concepts so it would be possible to shift the moment of editing from production moment to consuming moment and allow for multiple on montages still re"ecting the wishes/intent of the creators. What would the creation and viewer tools look like as a result ?

How do we make exhibitions interactive in a way that doesn’t enforce one model. Can we extend the current template model to include the interaction model and what properties do we allow the makers of exhibitions to change to create unique expressions ?

Interviews and polls done by Aalto (2011) show on a per use base content providers are less clear what they will allow with their content. It all depends on what, who and where in ways IPR tools don’t allow today.

We will extend the exhibition with ideas from ‘mapping connections’ workshop. Within pages it will be possible for components to talk to each other and interact. Many of the signals will be coming from the video timeline. Implementation will be in spring!eld and popcorn.js components.

Any type of tag can now select part of the image and track it over time instead of fullscreen. Like before we can link to them for example using popcorn.js elements

The tags can come from external programs or added by hand. In all cases the shape and path can be ‘tuned’ by hand if needed.
