International expertise for your local PMO

Symposium Specials:

Graphic RecordingExperience our Graphic Recording Sessions during the Keynotes!

Graphic recording is the ideal way of permanently lodging ideas, visions and goals in people’s minds at meetings, workshops or large conferences. As speakers talk, the renowned MindGraphic specialist Herbert Weber works to distill their message into large graphic displays. It is live, real-time, creative, entertaining and highly effective for capturing the key points and messages, structuring complexity and helping to embed the messages in listeners’ memories. Furthermore, this pictorial record enables people who were not at the event to share the results and findings.

Integrating Practices for Delivering Change – “The Mission of the PMO”

A PMO needs to support existing change delivery practices including portfolio, program and project management. Practices for Delivering ChangeOverview of change delivery practices including:• Portfolio Program & Project Offices – P3O• Portfolio Management – MoP• Program Management – MSP• Project Management – PRINCE2• Change Management• Benefits Management• Other Practices

The challenge for any PMO is to continue to add value for the business. The PMO can improve the integration and maturity of change delivery.Capability MaturityHow repeatable is current:• Project management?• Program management? • Portfolio management?

Integration is about more than the maturity of any one change delivery practice. We need to examine how different maturity levels can work together.Integrating Change Delivery Practices (Part 1) • Which maturity levels go together?• Can we build maturity without program management?• How do portfolio and project management interact at

different maturity levels?

The PMO also needs to understand and resolve conflicts.Integrating Change Delivery Practices (Part 2) • Synergies between practices• Clashes between practices• Links to the business:

• Opportunities to build alliances• How to deal with potential foes

We then need a workable way of managing an integration initiative. The Integration Initiative• What form should an integration initiative take?

• A project?• A program?• A series of linked initiatives?

Finally, need to summarize this mix of practices and maturity in a single compelling picture. The Integration Grid • Picturing the integration environment
