EUROPEAN COMMUNICATION SUMMIT Held annually in Brussels, the European Communication Summit gathers leading communication directors and spokespersons working in Europe for a two-day conference which examines the latest developments in communications. Approximately 700 participants attend from politics, business, non-governmental organisations and the media to listen to presentations delivered by distinguished expert speakers. This event also hosts important association gatherings such as the General Assembly and EACD Working Group meetings. The 2015 European Communication Summit will take place on June 25th and 26th.

Why join our network? The European Association of Communication Directors meets the needs of members by providing the support needed to over-come daily challenges, thrive in the global arena and develop the profession as a whole. Founded in 2006, the EACD is the network for communications professionals from all fields across Europe. Members benefit from different gatherings throughout the year, various publications and ongoing studies in the field.

Shared experience, shared visionThe EACD aims to create innovative forums for knowledge shar-ing and networking among communications professionals and to be at the forefront of cutting-edge developments within the field. The EACD ensures the reputation and visibility of commu-nications by hosting high-profile conferences and award events and by representing the interests of the profession.

Get Involved & Benefit from Qualification and Networking

EUROPEAN COMMUNICATION AWARD As part of the European Communication Summit, the EACD presents the European Communication Award to the individual or organisation whose communication efforts over the past year stand out on a European level. Previous winners have come from the European Central Bank, Euronews, Siemens, Marks and Spencer, Nokia and most recently, Unilever.

EACD FORUM At the end of each year, the EACD hosts its second main event, the EACD Forum. In order to reflect the regional diversity of the Association‘s members, the Forum takes place in a different location each year. European communication professionals come together in Europe‘s main cities for topically focussed presentations and discussions.

E U WORKING GROUPS The EACD Working Groups ensure a cross-industry ex change of opinions and information. Members of the EACD regularly come together in workshops and meetings to discuss specific topics of concern and to work together on papers and guidelines for the communi-cations profession.

REGIONAL DEBATESThe EACD Regional Debates bring together public rela-tions and communication professionals from different European regions for informative discussions and great networking opportunities. By hosting debates and pres-entations on contemporary communications issues to members across Europe, the EACD shares the accumu-lated knowledge of its members across the continent. This allows the EACD to simultaneously help develop the profession while strengthening its network.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY The EACD General Assembly represents the main decision-making body of the association. Occuring once a year, it provides members with an opportunity to review past developments and discuss further activities of the association. Every two years, the General Assembly is where members elect the EACD Board.

COACHING DAYS Qualified speakers offer intensive training sessions in the form of a two or three hour workshop for EACD members interested in learning about a particular aspect of communications in greater depth. The work-shops have a strong interactive element which provides practical knowledge that can be easily implemented.

COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR Communication Director magazine is one of the leading resources for information and analysis on corporate communications and public relations. Published quarterly in English, it features news, commentary and debates on the latest communications issues. Contributing authors include academics from leading universities and heads of corporate communications at some of the world’s largest companies. Each gives their own unique perspective on communications, allowing members to read the latest cutting-edge theories by thought leaders, alongside actual recent case studies by those working in the field, ensuring a rounded view of communications today.

ONLINE COMMUNITY With more than 2,300 members spread across the European continent, the EACD offers an online peer community. The EACD website serves as an information portal for all members and peers which shares the latest updates and event announcements. The EACDnet is an exclusive intranet where members connect with each other and engage in Regional and Working Group discus-sions. The EACD also has a strong social media presence; find us on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.

EUROPEAN COMMUNICATION MONITOR The EACD cooperates with professors from renowned universities within the EUPRERA frame-work on an annual survey of the communication industry. More than 2,700 European communica-tors took part in 2014. The results highlight current and future trends and offer an overview of the working environment and challenges faced by com-municators.

SERVICE BROCHURES The EACD regularly publishes useful instructional Service Brochures, written by experienced communicators and containing advice on various areas of European commu-nications. The Service Brochures aim to provide practical solutions to a wide variety of communications challenges, and thus are an invaluable resource for EACD members.

Regional Groups | CoordinatorsThe EACD operates through a network of Regional Coordinators who help organise the Association‘s events on a local level. They strengthen the network by connecting EACD members and further promoting the Asso-ciation's vision. Members have the chance to share their knowledge and experience amongst peers from across their region. Regional Coordinators also help organise biannual Regional Debates in capitals and major cities across the continent. They are the local ambassadors for the EACD.
