Available in five distinctive systems, Europanelcombines design freedom with exceptionalfunctional performance and unique modularflexibility of 1mm increments between 300mm and1200mm wide.

All systems utilise a non-combustible stonewoolinsulation core to provide ‘built in’ passive fireresistance, which meets both life safety and propertyfire protection requirements.

In addition, the stonewool core and panel jointdesign ensure ‘class leading’ thermal and airtightness performance to help reduce operationalcarbon and exceed the requirements of ApprovedDocument L2A 2010.

Europanel Introduction

The Europanel series is a range of high quality, insulated metalpanel systems ideally suited to contemporary building façades.Designed with concealed fasteners, Europanel has a smootharchitecturally flat panel face and is seamlessly integrated withbuilding fenestration.

Sustainable building objectives are delivered in anumber of ways. Firstly, the panel’s constituentparts can be fully recycled, and detailedindependent life cycle assessments have beencarried out to support BREEAM excellent buildingpractices. Secondly, zero carbon construction canbe achieved through the Confidex Sustain®

guarantee, which offers a CarbonNeutral® buildingenvelope solution.

Designed as a single engineered component,Europanel is both quick and cost effective toinstall, and is ideally suited for new build andrefurbishment work across: commercial office,health, education, retail, sport and leisure, andmajor infrastructure projects.

G Series

The Europanel G (Gasket) series vertical and horizontalcross panel jointing creates the impression of a wideruniform frame around individual panels, similar to thatof a bi-modular system.The horizontal joint houses analuminium section, which is factory fitted to each panel.A high performance EPDM gasket is site installed andlocates within the aluminium section to provide apositive location and retention of the gasket.

The G series of configurations are available with 12mm(G12), 30mm (G30) and 50mm (G50) gaskets to giveyour building envelope a striking visual ‘grid’ effect withvarying widths.

F5 and S5

The F5 and S5 options in the range provide a cleanbuilding exterior through Europanel’s classic secret fixjoint. A dense stone wool core provides the precisionengineered base to an architecturally flat surface, andthe 5mm joint gap provides a fine pencil line jointhorizontally between panels and across the buildingenvelope.The S5 option combines the same pencil linejoint with a satinline (micro-rib) profiled panel face.

Extrusions

In addition to the five ‘standard’ system configurationswe also offer a range of architectural extrusions.These provide even greater flexibility and scopefor architectural expression and can be fixedvertically at panel joints or ‘mid’ panel asrequired. The range of extrusions is availablewith a polyester powder coating and canbe specified to colour match with thesupporting panels (or any other RALcolour) and are produced instandard lengths of 3m.

Joint Geometry

Europanel F5 and S5 series systems utilise a pencil linehorizontal joint combined with either a steel omegaand insert, or a polyester powder coated aluminiumomega and insert for the vertical joint.

Europanel G12, G30 and G50 series systems utilise ahigh performance EPDM gasket, which is siteinstalled and located into a bespoke aluminiumsection. This provides a positive location andretention of the gasket. The joint gaps available are12mm, 30mm and 50mm.

The vertical and horizontal cross panel jointing of theG12, G30 and G50 series systems create theimpression of a wider uniform frame around individualpanels or grid, similar to that of a bi-modular systemto create a striking visual effect.

Substrate Coatingsand Colours

Design freedom is further enhanced by steel facings inan extensive palette of solid and metallic colours andfinishes. This results in stylish building envelopes of thehighest quality and appearance.

The five Europanel systems are available in bothColorcoat HPS200 Ultra® and Colorcoat Prisma® byTata Steel. These are supported by an array ofservices, such as comprehensive guarantees, colourconsultancy and technical support and guidance.

Design Package

A fully designed ancillary package including pre-formed single and double crank corners, and the integration of glazing systems developedalongside proprietary window systemscomplement and complete the five systems.

We have a suite of approved constructiondetails which avoid the u-value penaltiesimposed with the SBEM calculations andsimplify the process of meeting building targetemission rates.

Physical CharacteristicsThe physical characteristics of Europanel make it ideal for fast-track modern construction techniques.

• Product thickness ranges between 75mm and 200mm to meet the needs of both new build and refurbishment projects.

• Panel lengths are cut to specific order lengths, thus minimising waste on-site.

• Span capability in excess of 6 metres, reduces the cost of secondary supporting steel work and creates clean uninterrupted internal surfaces.



Architecturally Flat

We regard the visual flatness of externalarchitectural panel systems to be fundamentalto the finished appearance and quality of thebuilding envelope. We, therefore, go to greatlengths to achieve the best possible end product.

The minimum steel specification for theexternal skin is 0.7 mm, and in all cases the coreinsulation is a high density stonewool machinedto a fine tolerance.

Our multi-million pound continuousmanufacturing facility enables us to work to finetolerances and ensures repeatability. The natureof the process is less prone to distortion duringthe curing phase than some thermosettinginsulation materials in which much higher processtemperatures need to be controlled.

Multi-Modular Design

Creating distinctive architectural façades requiresproduct design flexibility. Due to our innovativemanufacturing processes, Europanel can besupplied in module widths between 300mm and1200mm wide, and in 1mm increments. Thismeans that panel joints can be aligned with thehead and cill of glazing systems and other wallcomponents. In addition, panel layouts can becustomised to create a unique appearance foreach and every project.

This modular flexibility is not limited by the usualconstraints of minimum order quantity, and ifreplacements or additions are required, smallquantities of non standard module can be easilysupplied to the same exacting quality standardsas the original panels.

This architectural feature truly provides designerswith the ability to create a unique wall envelope.

Integrated Glazing andDoors SetsThe Europanel system has been developed as a 'total wall'solution and is designed to be integrated with glazing andlouvre components.

We provide practical glazing and interface details forcomplimentary envelope products, on the basis of fullytested and compliant products which meet industrytest standards for weatherability and durability.

Eurobond has worked closely with a number ofsuppliers of architectural aluminium systems, todevelop a range of windows, doors and louvreswhich are fully integrated with the Europanel system.

The external frame of the window, door or louvreincorporates aluminium extrusions, which mimic theedge profile of Europanel. This allows them to beinstalled in exactly the same way as the panels,eliminating the need for flashings and additionalmastic sealing, which in turn:

• Ensures a consistent installation standard

• Improves the aesthetic appearance

• Improves thermal performance

• Reduces air permeability

• Reduces installation time

Factory Mitred Corners

A range of factory mitred corners is available to suit allthicknesses of Europanel.

Corners can be supplied with angles to suit, and anyangle between 65° and 175° are available on request,allowing Eurobond to provide a bespoke solution foryour project.

Complementary single and double cranked cornersare factory mitred to ensure crisp detailing; a vitalingredient in the delivery of a high quality finishedbuilding envelope.

Horizontal Corner Panels

Eurobond offers both internal and externalcorner panels for horizontally laid applications in all panel types, the maximum overall girth is2000mm, with a minimum leg of 300mm.

Vertical Corners

Eurobond manufacture vertical corners to amaximum length of 3600mm, maximum girth is1200mm with a minimum leg of 300mm.

Variable module widths between 300mm to1200mm allowed the iconic framed glazing elementto be easily incorporated.

150mm Europanel F5 panels provided anarchitecturally flat surface finish on the buildingelevations.

Long fire rated spans enabled a reduction insecondary steelwork, hence minimising envelopeand overall build costs.

Air permeability of <1m3/m2/hr help this building toexceed the air tightness requirements of ApprovedDocument L2A: 2010.

The dry construction and speed of installation ofEuropanel helped make the overall project buildplan as efficient as possible.

Tata Steel’s Colorcoat® pre-finished steel range’swide colour palette made the NCC’s uniquecontrasting colour scheme easy to achieve.

The building achieved a BREEAM excellent rating,helped by Europanel’s environmental credentialswithin the materials section of the BREEAMassessment.

Fully integrated with glazing and doorsets,Europanel allows the large glazed entrance to beseamlessly included into the building envelope.

An aesthetically pleasing ‘clean’ building elevation iscreated through Europanel’s secret fix joint.

Low environmental impactis the foundation ofEuropanel design solutions.

Europanel will contribute to a CarbonNeutral®

envelope system in order to achieve a zerocarbon building design. The Eurobond lowenvironmental design approach is based onreducing a building’s operational carbon throughthermal performance and low air permeability,coupled with using materials in manufacturethat are proven recyclable at end of life.

• Environmental Product Declarations (EPD): independently audited full life cycle analysis to ISO14040-3 (max. 2 BREEAM material credits).

• Tata Steel Colors steel facings certified to BES 6001 responsible sourcing (max. 3 BREEAM material credits).

• CarbonNeutral® solution with Confidex Sustain®

FireEuropanel low fire risk fire solutions are the firstchoice wherever fire resistant structures arerequired. Built around a non-combustible stonewool core, the system is tested and certified for upto 2 hours fire resistance combined with maximumunsupported spans of 12 metres.

• Non-combustible core: classified as A1 in accordance with BS EN 13501-1: 2002.

• FM insurance approved to 4880 Class 1 Fire classification.

• LPCB approved to LPS1181 and 1208 standards.

• Tested to BS8414 - Part 1 floor to floor firespread requirements.

SmokeIt is now generally accepted that smoke is themajor contributor to death and injury in buildingfires. However, it is only recently that smoke isbeing recognised as the major cause of financialdamage. This could be down to the greater use ofcombustible materials, such as plastics in buildingcontents and the building’s external envelope.

Europanel has a non-combustible stone wool corethat will mitigate fire risk, limit the fire spread inthe case of ignition, and minimise toxic anddamaging smoke.
