Do not store reagents in the back of the refrigerator or in the door! 3. You only get one RFID card per reagent box. Do not lose it! Reagent Handling 1. Only remove one measurement cuvette and reagent tube at a time. Leave the remaining reagents in the refrigerator at all times. 2. Let sit for 10-15 minutes to ensure best results before introducing the sample. 3. DO NOT touch the clear unfrosted portion of the measurement cuvette. Light must pass freely through this portion. Pipetting Sample 1. Slowly prime the pipette tip with plasma or serum and ensure the sample is even. 2. Make sure there are no air bubbles in the pipette tip. 3. Ensure there is no excess sample on the side of the pipette tip. 4. Introduce the sample directly into the cuvette reagent and make sure you keep the plunger depressed as you remove the tip from the reagent. 5. Snap the reagent tube tightly to the measurement cuvette making sure not to touch the clear plastic portion of the measurement cuvette. 6. Use a Kim wipe to wipe around the clear portion of the measurement cuvette. 7. Insert the sample into the Solo, refer to the daily user guide for test specific Instructions. Pipette Positions 1. The 5μl pipette is a two position pipette so be careful when aspirating the sample. 2. Position one is for aspiration. 3. Position two is to release the sample into the reagent. 4. Do not aspirate by pushing down to position 2 or you will aspirate too much sample. Bad 5μl 20 μl Bad Frosted Unfrosted Lipemic Samples 1. For the highest level of accuracy from the Solo it is recommended to use fasted clear Serum or Lithium Heparinized plasma similar to sample A. 2. Small amounts of lipemia typically do not affect results and are acceptable as long as it does not exceed the amount shown here in sample B. 3. If the amount of lipemia is observed to be higher than Sample B, it is recommended to refrigerate the sample for 1 hour, centrifuge the sample again and try to create a separation between the lipemic substances. Aspirate only the clear Plasma from between the layers of fat and red cells. Sample A Sample B
