It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the EuroEyes Eye Clinics in China. The launch of EuroEyes China marks the start of an exciting new chapter for our company. It also represents the fulfilment of a long-term dream I have had to expand EuroEyes beyond Europe and in doing so bring the highest quality of German laser eye surgery to the people of China.

Laser Eye Surgery is my life’s passion. The motivation to improve people’s vision has defined my career.

Since qualifying as an ophthalmologist in 1986 I have challenged myself continually to seek new innovations in laser eye surgery that will raise the standards of my profession. I have been fortunate to work with many of the global leaders in my field who have provided me with the inspiration to develop EuroEyes into the largest international brand of laser eye clinics in Europe.

eeLASIK™ – customised treatment for myopia and astigmatism

Every eye is unique and deserves a unique treatment. eeLASIK™ is the state of the art technology for tailored laser eye vision correction.

Wavefront analysisTo prepare your eyes for eeLASIK™ we use the wavefront technology which enables us to measure the refractive power of the eye at more than 200 different spots. It produces a “map of the eye”, which contains the precise refractive power for every measured spot. It is often called “a fingerprint of your vision”. EuroEyes applies this technology to the laser vision correction thereby being able to create a vision better than when using glasses or contact lenses.

Femtosecond laserEuroEyes was among the first worldwide to introduce the femtosecond laser for flap creation prior to LASIK to correct nearsightedness and farsightedness with or without astigmatism. The femtosecond LASIK has become the Gold Standard at EuroEyes.

Excimer laserIn the last step of eeLASIK™, the excimer laser uses the scanned image from the wavefront examination to precisely sculpt the corneal surface and change its contour, thereby creating a vision better than glasses or contact lenses.

Nearsightedness (myopia) of more than -10 diopters appears in many people in China. To correct this they need a special treatment.

ICL implants are the treatment of choice for patients with high myopia. The lens is implanted into the eye where it stays permanently between the iris and the patient’s lens.

The vision normally improves on the same day as the ICL procedure, and recovery is usually very fast.

Presbyopia usually becomes apparent between the ages of 45 and 50:

small sized text becomes increasingly difficult to read. Your arms may not

seem long enough to read a newspaper or book. Eventually, reading glasses

must be used. People who are near- or farsighted are also affected by this

condition, and often this results in the need for several glasses, or bifocals.

PreLEX stands for Presbyopic Refractive Lens Exchange. It is the procedure of choice for patients over 45 who have trouble seeing distant and near objects without the use of glasses or contact lenses.

PreLEX removes the natural lens, that has not yet become a cataract and replaces it with a multifocal lens implant allowing the patient to see far, intermediate and near clearly. Both eyes need PreLEX treatment before the full benefits are seen.

A cataract is a clouding of the lens and is the leading cause of vision loss in people over the age of 65. The only treatment option is a cataract extraction.

Laser Cataract removal in Germany

With the new LenSx® femtosecond laser, no manual cutting with a scalpel is necessary. This new laser technology performs many of the steps that the surgeon previously performed. This has the significant advantage of increasing the safety and precision of the incisions, as well as assuring a perfectly centered artificial lens at the end of surgery. All of this results in an optimal visual outcome.

The treatment of cataracts is performed as an outpatient surgical procedure, involving the replacement of the cloudy, natural lens with a clear, artificial lens. The operation is performed under local topical anaesthesia.

EuroEyes has unique and unparalleled experience in cataract surgery. Dr. Jørgensen was one of the first eye surgeons in Germany to perform the revolutionary “small-incision” (phakoemulsification) technique for cataract surgery.

Once the lens has been removed, an artificial, clear lens

is inserted into the eye. As with the PreLEX procedure, a

multifocal lens is most often used in order to give complete

freedom from glasses.
