You will then receive an automated verification email with a link which you will need to click to confirm your email address and complete the registration process. The link in the activation email is valid for 7 days. 2. Subscription Confirmation Email Once you have purchased your subscription, our subscriptions department will upload your details to the EUP website and you will be sent an automated confirmation email. This will include a link to allow you to activate your institutional online subscription. Please make sure that you have registered on the EUP site, and that you are logged in, then click on the link in the Activation Email. You will not be able to activate your subscription if you are not registered and logged in to the EUP website. 3. Activate your Institutional Online Subscription Click the link in your Activation Email to take you to your My Account page. Your customer number (a series of letters or numbers) should appear automatically in the box next to Activation Code. Enter ‘yes’ to agree to our Terms and Conditions, then click Activate. If you require changes to our standard Licence Agreement please contact [email protected] to agree different conditions before entering ‘yes’ and clicking Activate. The EUP Site Licence Agreement can be viewed or downloaded here: http://www.euppublishing.com/page/infozone/librarians/sitelicenceagreement 4. Enter IP Ranges If you are registering on behalf of a library, you will need to enter all Internet Protocol (IP) addresses in order to enable access for library users. Each computer on your institution’s network will have a unique IP address. An IP address acts as a numeric identifier for an individual machine, and your institution will typically have a number of computers with an IP address within a designated range. By entering the IP range for your institution we can provide automatic free access to all of your users (without the need for a login process). IP addresses are represented by a series of numbers separated by a full stop, such as: 208.77.188.166 Some examples are as follows: 128.23.12.* 132.10.30-40.* 112.12.11.15:112.12.12.36 You may add IP ranges immediately, or at a later date. To do this, log in with your email address and password, click on My Account, then on the Institutional Administration and IP Ranges tabs.

Enter your institution’s IP ranges in the specified format and select ‘Add IP Ranges’. Institutional Administration Area In the Institutional Administration area of the Edinburgh University Press website you can view your journal subscriptions, manage IP ranges, set up institutional branding, enable OpenURL linking, download usage statistics and access control options (IP address ranges, institutional password and remote authentication). Log In to Institutional Administration To access the Institutional Administration area, log in to your account using the Log In link in the top right-hand corner of the homepage at http://www.euppublishing.com

Manage Your Subscriptions Click on the Subscription link in the Institutional Administration tab menu to view a list of your active subscriptions, together with dates of coverage and title ISSNs.

You can also download a tab-delimited text file of your journal subscriptions for integration into cataloguing systems. Administrators You can add or delete administrators via the Administrators section, and you can also choose to receive an email with all administrator email addresses for your records. To edit or change your contact details please select the Account Info tab.

Institution Branding The Banner section of the Institutional Administration area allows you to add institutional branding to appear for your users. You can enter your institution name in the ‘Banner text’ field and/or upload an institutional logo. The uploaded image should be in JPEG, GIF or PNG format and the size is restricted to 40x20 pixels (40 wide x 20 high) and 72dpi resolution. The logo and banner text will appear in the top right-hand corner of every page on the website.

Reference Linking Set up linking via the Reference Linking tab. If your institution has a local link server such as OpenURL, you can choose to display OpenURL reference links to your institution’s users by entering the location of your link server below. The link server URL should be entered as a complete URL, beginning with http:// and without a terminating / or ?. You can also upload a customized button which will be used to indicate OpenURL reference links. This button must be 85 pixels wide and 20 pixels high.

Trusted Proxy Server The TPS Setup tab allows you to set up Trusted Proxy Server access so users can access EUP Journals Online through a server, rather than directly. Enter the following information:

1. The IP address of your institution’s web server (this is the IP address from where the user will access the EUP site through TPS).

2. The domain URL where the TPS link will be located (optional). If the IP address is shared with multiple websites then the domain is needed to distinguish this site from the rest.

3. The banner text you would like to display at the top of every page with access through this TPS. Normally this is a welcome message with the name of your institution.

4. The full URL of the content that you wish to grant access to. This is normally the URL of the List of Issues page of a journal e.g. http://www.euppublishing.com/loi/dls

5. The full URL of an error page that users will be directed to when they fail to authenticate. This is usually a page hosted on your website with an explanation of what can be done to address this problem.

6. The programming language in which you would like us to generate the TPS code. Click the ‘Set up my Trusted Proxy Server and generate code’ button. The code will be generated in the language of your choice and you can copy this code and put it on your server as a file name. Find out the URL of this file and direct your users to the URL to access the online content.

You can tick to receive an email notification when monthly COUNTER usage data is available or you can have the reports delivered by email.
