Ettlin Lux® 1270 offers colour matching to RAL colours for custom colour selection to match the colour requirements of a project. By using RGB LEDs the fabric reproduces the chosen LED colours, or by using white LEDs the fabric reproduces its own colour. Two layer effects are also possible by combing two layers of fabric. With these possibilities, Ettlin Lux® can be custom designed to match the colour that is required. Below are some examples of RAL colours, each colour will have a different response to lighting.


Smart GlasEttlin lux® Smart Glas creates a glowing ambiance with dramatic effect and can be used as a splashback in indoor and outdoor applications. Ettlin lux® Smart Glas combines glass surfaces with a creative light design. LEDs interact with the glass and create three-dimensional effects in various forms and colours. Following the production principle of safety glass it is made out of two pieces of float glass or tempered safety glass. The effect material is embedded in between. Dimensions up to 1750 mm x 3000 mm are possible. Insulated glass with Ettlin lux® Smart Glas is possible as well. Individual dimensions and forms are feasible as well as additional drill holes or edge grindings. The laminated glass can be fixed with conventional mounting devices. Similar to Ettlin lux® fabrics the Smart Glas interacts with point light sources such as LEDs and creates fascinating luminous structures. Use colour LEDs such as RGB LEDs in order to adapt the installation to your room setup. You can create a splashback that changes colours through colour changing lighting that will make a dramatic and dynamic kitchen space.

MiracleFabric is a further development of our established effect fabrics showing defined long curved luminous lines. The special point about it is that the point light sources are no longer detectable. The Luminous Structures seem to appear out of thin air. Due to the missing contrast the luminous lines now show more plasticity and depth. MiracleFabric creates a warm ambiance that can be used in endless wall or ceiling applications as a feature, or to bring a design to life.

DecoluxDecolux Fabric combines the three-dimensional optical and illumination properties of the Ettlin lux® effect fabrics with the visual appearance and finish of a textured decorative fabric. Decolux is available in a range of finishes, and also 56 custom colours [minimum custom décor order 100sqm].

Without being backlit, Decolux offers a textured fabric that is beautiful and unique to look at and touch. As soon as the fabric is backlit, fascinating luminous three-dimensional effects appear. Create covers for walls and ceilings, curtains that look beautiful during the day, and when ‘switched on’ at night offer brilliant illumination with added ambience.

Acoustical behaviour of Decolux

The acoustical impedance measurement determines a material’s degree of sound absorption. This degree indicates which part of the incident sound energy is absorbed by the tested material. The sound absorption level is measured between 0 and 1 (0 = no absorption; 1 = total absorption). In the measurements carried out the structure of an acoustic box had been simulated, which is suitable for the integration of light effects via the arrangement of the rear panel and Decolux fabric. In this setup the Decolux fabric is at a certain distance (7 cm) in front of an acoustically effective rear panel. Two measurements of acoustical impedance were made:

• large impedance measuring tube (Ø 100mm): frequency range 50 Hz to 1,6 kHz• small impedance measuring tube(Ø 29 mm): frequency range 500 Hz to 6,4 kHz•

The following measuring setup types were tested in both impedance measuring tubes:

• acoustically effective rear panel without fabric in front• acoustically effective rear panel with Decolux 2301 fabric in front (distance: 7 cm)• acoustically effective rear panel with Decolux 2102 fabric in front (distance: 7 cm) Both products Decolux 2301 and Decolux 2102 had been selected for being the fabrics that show the greatest differences within the Decolux range. The two chosen fabrics are supposed to reflect the entire spectrum of the Decolux collection as well as possible. Long Form ResultThe differences between the two fabrics Decolux 2301 and Decolux 2102 are so small that the results of the measurements are representative for the entire collection. In a few frequency ranges the sound absorption level slightly deteriorates (in the range from 2 to 2,5 kHz by about 15 % plus in the range from 4 to 5,5 kHz by about 5 %). In contrast sound absorption level in the remaining frequency ranges increases. The largest improvement occurs in the range from 200 Hz to 1,6 kHz with an increase by up to 120 % at 800 Hz. This is the exact frequency range that is important for an office’s acoustics. Therefore Decolux can be used to encase an acoustically effective rear panels without concerns.
