Ethiopia Sidamo G2 grapefruit - juicy - cocoa Ethiopia is known as the birthplace of coffee, and Sidamo is likely very close to coffee’s origin. The Sidamo region is south of the capital, Addis Ababa. Sidamo is also the most southern and most productive province in the country. Most coffee producing countries export the majority of the product and do not consume coffee locally. However, this is not the case for the birthplace of coffee. Ethiopia consumes about 50% of its coffee production making it the largest consumer of coffee on the entire African continent. A combination of ideal climate, high elevation, and soil type make coffees from Sidamo some of the most desirable in the world. This lot is a washed grade 2 which has fewer visible defects then most. This helps this coffee express its characters of grapefruit like citrus, brown sugar and milk chocolate.
