ETHNICITY, RACE AND CITIZENSHIP IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION

When we look the ethnicity in the context of terminology, it includes race and culture within itsdefinition. So, when i try to define ethnicity in globalization, i will glance to culture with race.

Absolutely, evolution of term of ethnicity had been gained momentum within historicalprogress. Actually, internalize and interaction between nation have been happening throughouthistory and this fact doesn't only belong to today's world. However, nations have beeninternalized to other nation's values throughout history for their necessary and stability. I mayexplain this fact with a simple example. After conquer of Anatolia by Seljuk Turks whointernalized Pars language in bureaucracy, law, orders and state affairs that set up for settled lifeby Pars. Seljucks was living as nomadic life and when they try to turn settled life, they havetaken the rules, which able to settled life, from Persian culture. It is a good example forinteraction between cultures. In today's world, this interaction turn to global conjuncture fromlocal. Using with Wallerstein terminology will be ease for definition of orientation of ethnicity

Relationship between core and periphery is so important point in Globalization. Concentrationof science-economy-social service have been included by Core state that wealth is wider thanperiphery. Core possess of huge political and military power so that dominate the world.However, periphery state wants the gain this power for themselves that refers to internalization.

There is another important point here that core state's production is not belong to only onenation because it develops as all human common property. Science man who develops thescience and technology, aren't only belongs to one nation, they could be in any nation.Transnational companies sell the their production to whole world and their designer, labor andadministrators may be belong to very different nations.

Culture evolves like science and technology with over time. Environmental circumstances is soimportant in evolution the cultures of humans. Evolution is a important term that it will be helpus for understand to globalization development momentum thought history. For instance;

culture in the context of wearing. Wearing is chosen in conformity with climates and societieshave been determining their clothes with this fact. In hot climates, people prefer wear clothesbut in cold climates people prefer thick and leather clothes. But there are natural gas and airconditioning in recent days and they isolate us from external conditions. Differentiates betweenclimate is not so important and conditions are getting resemble each other over time. Exceptmarginal examples like pole and equator. People wear the clothes whether things belong to their culture or not.When we walk on street, we can see the people who wear blue jean which produced in USA orMexican cap or Italian shoes and it is very natural in modern world. This case resembles theother cultural things like language. Every language are effected by globalization widely.Societies adapt other language values to own languages in order to enrich their language. Manywords are added into jargons. Those all examples are related with abolishing the boundarieswhich between societies so that are closing the each other

The happening of globalization concerned with reducing connection time, directly. People arelearn anything with light speed in this era. Goods and informations are transported veryquickly. So, one person can learn news which about her country with same time world's news.Information are sharing with light speed in global world. It feels that world like a single village.Same TV-Series, Movies are watched by whole world, people eating in KFC, McDonald,wearing blue jean, listening same popular musics etc. So that, cultures are closing each otherover time.

When we the look the race case as a other element of ethnicity, it is reducing the effects of ittoo. Firstly, we should understand that what is the effects of race feeling over people and how isit changing now and to where ? "Blood relative societies", which develop a governing styledepend on race, are a very important point of departure of term of race thought history. Leaderof "blood relative societies" are chosen with blood tie in patriarch system, leader haveclemency for own society but they are cruel the other groups after all, people of this societydon't like the get married with people of other societies etc. We can see effects of this life stylein today, especially in conservative people and families. Also we can see the person who defineherself as a member of tribal. Race feeling became so important when setting up nation-states.Also, some reasons of WW2 in 20th century were marginal race feeling (Facism, Nazism). Intoday, marginal racist ideas are banned in international area and it is seen as a guilt. Now,international trade, setting a legal government and so on are impossible with racist ideas. Inglobal world, in every aspects, boundaries are abolished so that race feeling is reducedeveryday. People feels themselves as world people. People getting married with other nation'speople, they could be get a child who has parents from different nations.

So, ethnicity that means race and culture are getting closer every day between people.

The last element is citizenship in the context of globalization. Typically, term of citizen got ashape in nation-states that refers to race feeling. But in today, race feeling means are gettinglose its meaning. I touched on the some reason of that. The reasons like migrations arechanging the term of citizenship over time. People are migrating in order to get more wealth,better life or education etc. Billion of people are living outside from their homeland as a

citizenship of state where they live in. Dual nationality is a good example for changing of termof citizenship in global people. Some people can have the dual nationality and benefit from theall positive rights which given the citizens by two state. States want the include more skilledpeople in citizens so the race feeling is not important at all. Especially in developed county,there are many people who belongs many different culture, language etc. For instance;Switzerland. When the look the demographic structure of country, there are four officiallanguage; German, Italian, French and Romansh [1]. People who belongs different ethnicity areliving together as a citizenship Switzerland. Absolutely, there are reasons concerned withhistorical links in this demographic structure of Switzerland but it is a good example forcitizenship in the context of globalization too.
