I – DTMUX DVR

The D.T.MUX DVR (Digital Video Recorder) has been designed for video surveillance and search and rescue needs and all general video recording needs in airborne condition. This unit is based on DTMUX M (Mission recorder) structure and has a control unit built into the front side of the device with a control screen for operator. This unit has the capability to record and replay in same time full HD video (1080p/i) in H.264 compression format from an EO/IR camera. The button and screen on the front face of the device permit at the operator to have a full control on a video replay* and configure the recording characteristic like bit rate. The unit offers two ways to remove the video data, either directly with the removable memory cartridge or by connecting a USB stick, so the recorded data is directly readable on any computer who runs Windows XP, 7 or 8.

III - DTMUX DVR Basic Operation

III – A) Start and stop the DVR unit

POWER ON

To power on the DTMUX DVR unit the operator must push the Power button one time. After push the button, the screen loading mode is activate and button, on the front face are illuminated. The loading screen appears on the screen for about 50 seconds. This loading screen has a progress bar in percent to indicate the progress loading status.

POWER OFF

To stop the unit the operator must remain press the button for 3 seconds

III – B) Main Screen After loading the screen change and the operator arrive on the home screen of the DVR. This home screen permit to view the time already recorded on the memory and the file size. Nothing is displayed in the Play Back area.

III – C) Brightness menu

ADJUST BRIGHTNESS

At any time the user can press this button to adjust the luminosity of the buttons and screen in the same time.

When the operator press this button the luminosity of the button increase

but the luminosity of the screen decrease for the night vision

When the operator press this button. The luminosity of the button decrease but the luminosity of the screen

increase for the day vision

When the operator press this button the brightness adjust is saved and the

operator goes back to the previous screen, the same thing happens after 5 seconds of inactivity.

IV – B, for more information). The video in current recording is available immediately for playback (Default mode), If operator want replay a recorded file, he must select one in playlist menu.

To switch on playback of current recording file when file has been selected with playlist menu, the

operator must hold down the Pause/Play button

IV – C) USB Extraction Submenu This menu is available only when the DTMUX DVR is in standby mode (No recording).

To access at this menu press MENU button and select USB EXTRACTION in main menu items and press ENTER. The USB extraction copies all, or only part of the file selected. The extractions don’t delete the file present on SSD but just make a copy on USB Key. IV – C-1) Plug USB key

Before extract data on USB key you must insert a memory device on USB port present on the front panel.

Select value YES or NO.

Valid selection. If YES go to next menu or if NO abort and go to previous menu

ABORT

Return to main menu, Press two times to return on main screen

IV – C-2) Select recorded file

When you have plugged in USB key and you have answered YES, you arrive on the screen below. This screen permit to select the file you want extract on the USB key. You can extract all or only a part of the file selected.

When you have selected a file to extract you arrive in another screen (like below). This submenu permits to select the start time and the end time of file to extract on USB Key, this function permit to extract only a part of a file. If you want extract the full file you must leave the value unchanged and press VALID button.

INCREASE

Increase the time value number of start/end time.

DECREASE

Decrease the time value number of start/end time.

NEXT VALUE

Go to the next time value (Hours, minutes or seconds).

VALID

Valid and start extraction (See next windows IV-C-4).

When the validation has been completed, the following screen appears.

Do not remove the USB key or power off

the recorder during file transfer into the

USB Key.

This operation can take several minutes, depending of file size extracted.

Copy error

If an error occurs during the file transfers on USB Key, this screen appear. If this screen appears you must try again the extraction process.

When the extraction has been completed, the following screen appears. When this screen appears you can remove the USB key of D.T.MUX DVR or continue a new extraction. The file present on the USB Key uses H.264 (MPEG 4 compression) and can be directly readable on any computer who runs Windows 7 or 8.

When the file is closed the following screen appear, you can remove your USB key of the DTMUX DVR.

If an error occurs during the file closing, because the key not answer at the close instruction, the following screen can appear. The file can be available on the key but you can have a corrupted file in this case. The best way is to retry the file extraction process.
