July 1st is when the new dues begin. Gail is mailing out the statements. There is a change in the look of the Membership Register/Library/Lawyers’ Lounge Access Cards this year. The company that the Association leases our door reader/lock system from went out of business. This company was Card Sales International located in California. The Association did business with them for better than forty years.

CSI did refer us to another company located in Alabama, the Card Lock Company. They utilize the same type card reader/lock system that we use in all of our access doors. Their style card looks a little different, but will work the same way in our door readers.

This year’s cards also have an advertising sponsor, which appears on the back of the cards.

Job Description: Assistant Conflict CounselEmployment Status: Full-TimeReports to: Chief County Solicitor Summary: The Assistant Conflict Counsel position functions out of

the Department of Conflict Counsel to provide legal ser-vices for indigent criminal defendants at all stages of the criminal proceedings. This attorney shall be responsible for, among other duties, drafting motions and petitions; appear-ing at Preliminary Hearings, Arraignments, Guilty Pleas, Sentencings, Trials, Appeals, Post Conviction Relief Act proceedings for adult defendants and juvenile offenders for misdemeanor and felony charges.

Minimum Qualifications: A member of the Bar, in good standing, of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, a minimum of two years’ experience in criminal defense work is preferred but its absence is not disqualifying. Applicants must also submit a detailed resume, writing sample, list of three professional references and certificate of good standing.
