VICE PRESIDENTS DINNER
Eight Vice Presidents ate a splendid 5 course dinner before watching the 1st team play Birmingham Barbarians. The highlight was being joined for pudding course by Barbarians supporter John Ross. John played against many of the Vice Presidents in the 1960's and 70's when the fixture was between the works teams old Rubery Owen and IMI Kynock.
As always, the VP's were grateful for the way they were looked after by Gina, Sammie, Judith and Rosalyn. The lunch was slightly quieter than usual because most of the VP's (particularly the President) were suffering hangovers following the celebrations at Doug Hydens’ 70 Birthday Dinner the night before!!!! This week the VP's have received the sad news that
prop forward Big Les Johnson has passed away with
cancer. Les played for Rubery Owen in the 1970's
and our thoughts go out to his family
