Liver and Endocrine Connection

• Optimal liver function is vital to Endocrine functions• The body responds to stress by releasing hormones from the

adrenals that travel to the liver triggering the release of glycogen• The liver breaks down or metabolizes steroid hormones once

they have done their work in the body• After the liver breaks down substances, they are excreted into

the bile or the blood: bile by-products enter the intestine andleave the body in the feces, and blood by-products are filtered bythe kidneys and leave the body via urine

• If the liver is not efficient at breaking down these hormones theycan accumulate causing hormonal imbalances

• A compromised liver is sluggish and will not break downhormones efficiently, contributing to weight gain

Place dried herbs in French press or 32 ounce mason jar.Fill with boiling water and steep 20-25 minutes or longer.Drink 2-3 cups daily.
