• Capacity : Existing capacity of 30 MMTPA being expanded to 50 MMTPA

• Berth length: 550 m being expanded by further 1100 m. Increases berth length to 1650 m

• Investment : Existing investment of Rs 2400 cr going up to Rs 3200 cr

• Channel: 8.8 km long and 300 m wide, created through dredging

Operational Performance Update

Cargo handling for Q1 FY17 was at 4.4 MMT as against 2.4 MMT during the corresponding

quarter of previous year. An increase of 83%

Estimated cargo handling for FY17 is 24 MMT which will be approx. 89% increase for FY16

Cargo growth backed by ramp up of production by Essar Steel plant

Further, EBTL expects to ramp up third party cargo since it has received GMB permission to

handle 15 Million MT of Commercial Cargo.

EBITDA margin consistently above 70% due to high mechanization and low manual intervention

Expansion Project - 1100M Berth Expansion

Undergoing expansion of 1100m of berth by EBTL increases the port capacity from existing 30 MMTPA to 50

MMTPA

Current Berth length of 550m upon expansion by another 1100m takes overall berth length to 1650m

Expansion project work is in full swing and is expected to be completed by December 2016

Post Expansion, 6-7 ships of bulk and break bulk cargo can be simultaneously handled

Additional yard is being be developed as part of project will help cater to increased cargo from Essar Steel and

third parties

The expansion project will help cater to Traffic ramp up estimated at 35 MMT by FY 2020.

Total investment in the expansion project is Rs 800 crore

Coupled with existing investment of Rs 2400 crores, the total investment in Hazira port is approx. Rs 3,200

crores

8.8 Km Channel with 14 m draft - ~ 80 Mn Cubic m dredged

Port located at the mouth of river Tapi has achieved 14m draft due to the best-in class engineering

efforts by Essar. Total of 80 Mn Cu.m has been dredged till date making it one of the largest

dredging efforts in the country 9

Three ship unloaders of 2500 TPH each can discharge approximately 80,000 tonnes per day

resulting in turn around time of 24-36 hours for cape size vessels 10
