About the department

The department of electronic and communication first started in the year 2000 with 60 students

intake and increased to 120 in 2006, is presently located in “Mahaveer block”. The dept offers UG and PG programs taking into consideration the ever growing need of man power trained in the field of ECE. Over the years, the dept has built up laboratories in the area of electronic device and circuits, digital and logic design, microprocessor and micro controllers, networks and communication including microwave and optical communication, computer communication and VLSI. The M.E program in “Computer communication engineering” was started in the 2007, with a strength of 18. The teaching program contains a proper blend of basic concepts and advances in technology. The faculty has succeeded in keeping a lively atmosphere among the

students with timely upgradation in the curriculum and innovative teaching techniques. The teaching is closely coupled with the video-conferencing EDUSAT by Anna university Chennai. The dept is having WELL EQUIPED ELECTRONIC, computer n internet labs with the latest technologies hardware and software. Our dept also offers value added course “CISCO CCNA”

Akshaya.S and Harini Priyanka.S took part in the National Level Symposium held at Thanthaiperiyar Govt.Institute Of Technology on 2nd April 2014. They presentated a Paper titled as "NANO TECHNOLOGY IN CURRENT DEVELOPEMENT" and won the 1st prize.

S. Akshaya has won 2nd prize in paper presentation (Mathematics) and 2nd prize in paper presentation (English) conducted by Department of Science and Humanities at our college on 11.03.2014

Harini priyanka.S has won 2nd place in paper presentation (English) and in Essay wirting conducted on 7.3.14 by Dept. of Science and humanities “PRAYAS-2K14” at GTEC, VELLORE

Project Fiesta '14 was held at our college on 18th march 2014 . Our managing trustee inaugurated the program and conducted it successfully.

The programme was held to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers visited Mottupalayam village in Kaniyambadi to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of

dignity. In doing so, volunteers learned from

people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.

The volunteers involved in the following activities:

creating awareness of such

issues as social problems,

education and cleanliness

Awareness Rallies

Inviting doctors for health camp

Doing so, the volunteers gained

leadership qualities and acquired decratic

attitude.

You can take any courses in the framework

either as a four year sandwich course, with

a 40 week industrial placement in the third

year, or as a full-time three year course.

The experience that you will gain during

your placement is invaluable in helping to

make informed decisions about your

future career path, as well as enhancing

employment prospects upon graduation.

During the placement year you will have

the chance to develop your interpersonal

skills and build on the theory and

knowledge you have gained so far. Many

of our students find that they are offered

permanent jobs after graduation by their

placement companies.

A recent report from High Fliers Research

has highlighted the vital importance of

work placements. The report found that

more than a third of jobs for new

graduates are being taken by people who

have already had work experience with

that employer through work experience

during holidays or placements as part of a

course.

A workshop was held on 19th and 20th of July 2013 on the topic "Fundamentals of MATLAB program" conducted by institute of Electronics and telecommunication Engineering, Chennai . Our students - Prasanth, Suraj, Nirmaal, Sarath Kumar, Venkateshwar, Srinivasa rao, Praveen.B actively participated.

TIFAC-CORE in AUTOMOTIVE INFOTRONICS conducted a workshop on "Realisation of Automotive sensors using ARDUINO " held during 21-3-2014 to 22-03-2014. our students Divakaran.U,

Karthikeyan.S, R.Manogopinath, E.Lakshmanan actively participated in the event.

A national level techno management fest "AARUUSH'13" , was held at SRM UNIVERSITY ON 18-19 SEPTEMEBER 2013, our student Karthikeyan.S was CERTIFIED as Ethical Hacking Expert by techdefence HACKTRACK.

A National Level workshop was conducted on 24th and 25th of March 2014 organized by ECE department of GTEC in association with Gtec Cisco Academy on the topic " computer networks " . Our department students

enthusiastically conducted and also participated in the above.

Sree krishna college of engineering conducted the seminar on the topic "recent trends in wireless technology" held on 12th march 2014. Our students - C.Raja, B.Suraj , Theerkadharshini, Rama of 3rd yr.,actively attended the seminar.

On 16th April 2014 a National Level Conference on "Emerging trends in Electronics and Communication Engineering" held at New Prince Sree Bhavani College of engineering and technology, Gowrivakkam, Chennai.

Our department students C.Raja, B.Suraj, presented a paper titled as "Atomic Road extraction for high resolution image". Saathwika.S, Sudha.R presented a paper titled as" identification and verification of adjacent position in mobile adhoc networks". Sugila.R, Theerkadharshini presented a paper titled as "reducing delay and enhancing the lifetime of WSN using anycast" in the conference.
