segment, Esh Life primarily serves as a promotional vehicle

for the badasses—designers, athletes, trainers, photographers,

writers, artists, stylists, etc.—who have collaborated with

Evolution Stops Here. Esh Life’s contents prominently

feature bold photo spreads and also encompass a variety

of articles on lifestyle, fitness (exercise and nutritional tips),

design, fashion, art, gastronomy, and interviews.

Bohemian Mix, prizm ne segment #16: “A collection of young, mobile urban-ites, Bohemian Mix represents the nation’s most liberal lifestyles. Its residents are a progressive mix of young singles and couples, students and professionals, Hispanics, Asians, African-Americans and whites. In their funky rowhouses and apartments, Bohemian Mixers are the early adopters who are quick to check out the latest movie, nightclub, laptop and microbrew.”

Esh Life features the collaborative work of badasses to deliver a theme for each issue. Cover: Every issue will feature a lifestyle image by an awesome photographer on the cover. The consistent white sans serif masthead and minimal copy (issue date and volume title) allows the cover image to be the focus of that month’s theme.Example: The following are examples of the covers with featured themes for six issues. Keep in mind, these are just concept covers to show a look of consistency. The future issues of Esh Life have not been determined.Ad Space: For now, there will be no space for paid advertisement.

Gotham celebrates the attractive and unassuming letter-ing of the city. Pub-lic spaces are teem-ing with handmade sans serifs that share the same underly-ing structure, an engineer’s idea of “basic lettering” that transcends both the characteristics of their materials and the mannerisms of their craftsmen.

Inspired by an illustration in a sixteenth-century writing manual, Requiem cel-ebrates the fertile world of Renais-sance humanism.

Requiem

Gotham

To stay true to our badass essence, we commit ourselves to badass design. As we design issues and solidify our graphic standards we will add on to this identity document. Brand components like color, page layout, photo style and copy style will be identified in the near future. For now, we’ll highlight typography. The two fonts we will primarily use for all the Esh Life issues are Requiem and Gotham, both designed by Jonathan Hoefler & Frere-Jones. Requiem will be our text font while Gotham will serve as the display font. Beauti-fully classic, Requiem celebrates Renaissance humanism while Gotham reveres engineered precision. They make a badass balance.
