ESF is a place where campers feel at home their very first year.
Founded in 1982 by brothers Michael and Bill Rouse, ESF has a long-standing and well-deserved reputation for excellence, and every year we strive to raise the bar even higher. We provide a safe, supportive, fun environment where new experiences can be tried and individual achievement is encouraged. Our values and goals are reflected in every aspect of our camps. Our unique ESF Traditions – cherished over the years– reward and inspire campers and reinforce what we’re about.

Our staff is made up of teachers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students pursuing degrees primarily in the fields of Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary and Physical Education, and Child Psychology. But it isn’t just the qualifications, it’s the energy and enthusiasm of our staff that sets us apart. They understand the “ESF Experience” and know how todeliver it! With our low camper-to-staff ratio, your child receives the attention needed to flourish.

The premier indoor and outdoor facilities of Montgomery School serve as the ultimate camp “playground.” With everything including endless athletic fields, gymnasium, state-of-the-art outdoor swimming pool, art studio and classrooms, science lab, cafeteria, and rural nature trails, Montgomery School has it all!

We pull out all of the stops for a child’s first summer at ESF! This fun-filled, first camp experience for 3 year-old campers, offers both full and half day options. Mini Camp is packed with enriching activities including musical adventures, science and nature, crafts, water play, sports, theme days and more!

Activities IncludeCircle TimeComplete with morning greetings, songs and stories, Circle Time starts the day off right and gets campers revved up for non-stop fun and adventure.
The Art ExpressCampers paint, paste, collage and more while making puppets, masks, crazy glasses and photo frames, among other imaginative creations.
Water PlayWater play is a great way to cool off during the summer. With a wading pool, water toys and a sprinkler, campers are sure to have a blast while making a splash!
Imagination StationCampers journey to the incredible land of “make believe” with dramatic play, puppetry, storytelling and more.
Musical AdventuresCampers sing and dance to the rhythm of this musical adventure.
The Curiosity ClubCampers discover science and nature with hands-on experiments, outdoor explorations and scientific adventures.
Fun with SportsCampers build self-confidence and fundamental skills through daily recreational games such as soccer, tee-ball, parachute and more.
Theme Days & Special EventsEach week, campers enjoy special, theme-related events such as Masquerade Day, Crazy Hat Day and Pirate Day, to name a few.

Daily Swim InstructionTake the plunge and cool off with our daily instructional swim program. Our low camper to instructor ratio ensures that your camper will learn basic swim techniques and water safety skills at his/her own pace, under the guidance and supervision of our Red Cross certified instructors and lifeguards. As campers advance through skill levels, they will take home progress reports and be recognized with awards.
SportsBuild sportsmanship and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of soccer, street hockey, basketball, baseball, flag football, tee-ball, track and field, wiffle ball and more. Campers also play recreational games and compete in tournaments each week.
Fine Arts & Keepsake CraftsExplore a wide variety of artistic media in our exciting art programs. Campers create artwork in the styles of famous artists and make keepsake crafts including tie dye t-shirts, clay creations, jewelry, mosaics and much more.
Project Discovery (Science & Nature)Become a scientist and environmental steward while experiencing scientific investigations, cool experiments, and outdoor explorations. Themes include: nature, animals, radical reactions, dinosaurs, birds, bubbles, bugs and more!
Creative & Performing ArtsMake some music and dance your heart out while learning acting and improv techniques, telling stories, playing charades, singing karaoke, creating tribe cheers and performing skits. Campers also participate in our two new Day Camp Shows.
Day Camp ShowsTake the stage and shine in the spotlight as you perform in our new Camp Shows: The Legend of the Spirit Stick (performance on July 12) Treasure Island: Young Pirates of the Caribbean (performance on August 9)
World Tour (Cultural Awareness)Travel around the world this summer without ever leaving camp. Discover various cultures, traditions, languages, geography, music and dance, festivals, folklore and more! Far away locations include: Spain, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Thailand and Africa. Campers also travel back in time to discover the marvels of Ancient Egypt and, a little closer to home, enjoy historic journeys in Boston and cool adventures in Alaska.

9 Featured SportsEach week, you’ll receive individualized and group instruction in all 9 featured sports: baseball, basketball, European team handball, flag football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, street hockey and swimming.
Instruction & Skills DevelopmentOur expert coaches go beyond just teaching fundamental skills; they focus on the “total athlete,” emphasizing sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, commitment, effort, leadership and improvement. Demonstrations on proper techniques, game strategies and fundamental skills help campers reach their full potential!
Daily SwimmingSports Campers, age 6 & 7, participate in instructional swim. Sports Campers, ages 8-14, have recreational swim with optional instruction available, at no extra charge, 2 days a week, before or after camp. Times/days provided at Family Orientation in May/June.
Leadership TrainingWe believe that excellence in sports is about more than just athletic performance. Develop your “total athlete” and learn to motivate, support and inspire others. You’ll become a leader both on and off the playing field.
A.L.T. Program (Advanced Level Training)For ages 11-14, the A.L.T. Program offers campers the option of participating in a higher level of athletic training.
Choice PeriodCampers ages 7 and older play a sport of their choice or swim during daily choice time.
TournamentsTake part in tournaments and championships each week including Stanley Cup, World Cup, World Series, Final Four and more!

True Life AdventuresIn addition to swimming, sports, art, fencing, martial arts, archery and other activities, you can broaden your horizons with a new TLA each week!
Culinary Arts: Great American Cookout June 17 – June 21
Prepare and sample some All-American classic recipes including appetizers, salads, smoothies, main dishes and desserts! Enjoy all of your culinary creations each day, but be sure to save some room for the grand finale – the Great American Cookout complete with food, music and games!
Rocketry June 24 – June 28
Soar to new heights while exploring the laws of motion and the physics of rocket flight. After constructing your solid-fuel propelled rocket, prepare for lift-off! With altitude trackers in hand, launch pads in place and mission control in command, get ready for the Rocket Launch!
Outdoor Adventure (Rock Wall) July 1 – July 5Conquer the forty-foot rock wall, offering challenges for all skill levels, under the watchful eye of our experienced instructor and the security of a belay. Learn wilderness survival tips, outdoor living skills and orienteering while participating in team building activities and group initiatives.
Inventors’ Workshop July 8 – July 12
Step into a world of inspiration, creativity and imagination as you learn about great inventors and inventions that changed the world. Brainstorm and collaborate with your team to transform your ideas into super cool inventions. Showcase your prototypes at the ESF Invention Convention!
Carnival, Circus & Magic July 15 – July 19
Design, build, and host your very own Camp Carnival. Construct games, learn circus techniques, and discover how to perform illusions and sleight-of-hand magic tricks. Show off your savvy circus skills and strolling magic tricks at the grand finale!
CO2 Dragster Racers July 22 – July 26
Prepare for the ultimate demonstration of force, motion, speed, friction, and acceleration while creating your very own model CO2 dragster. Learn about production, finishing and testing your custom vehicle - all in preparation for the ESF Dragster Race Day Competition!
Digital Photography July 29 – August 2
Capture camp through a lens and showcase your favorite photographs at the Gallery Exhibition! Discover the works of famous master photographers, explore different styles of photography, and learn digital camera functionality.
Musical Theater: FAME, JR August 5 – August 9, August 12 – August 16
A hit motion picture and international theater success, Fame, JR sets the stage for a sensational production. Discover the many facets of a theatrical team, and explore all aspects of dramatic and musical theater. Friends and family are invited to the premiere of this production on August 15.

We also offer an assortment of enrichment opportunities including private swim instruction, academic tutoring and sports instruction.

Clinics and Workshops take place Monday through Thursday after camp until 4:45pm (ages 4&5) or 5:45pm (ages 6-15) and are offered in addition to our extended day and enrichment options. You may sign up for multiple programs; however, please choose only one program per week. Programs vary by age, and enrollment is limited.

Use Club O.T. on a regular basis, or “visit” on a drop-in basis, as early as 7:45am, to as late as 6:00pm. “Club members” are divided into groups by age and enjoy sports, games, camp crafts, chess, book club, drama and theater and much more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments are provided. Our Club O.T. program is flexible; no pre-payment or pre-registration required. Billing is done twice a month via mail.

Swim InstructionPrivate swim instruction is available under the guidance and supervision of our Red Cross and Certified Instructors and Lifeguards. Our Aquatic staff designs a program specifically for your child that is compatible with his/her individual needs and ability level. Private lessons only.
Academic TutoringTutoring is available in many academic areas including: reading, math, science, music, language and more.
Sports InstructionPrivate sports instruction in soccer, street hockey, basketball, baseball, lacrosse and more, with an ESF Coach.
Enrichment Details & PricingAll lessons are held at camp after 3:30 PM.
Private LessonsHalf-hour lesson: $25.00One-hour lesson: $50.00
Semi-private Lessons* Half-hour lesson: $18.00 per child One-hour lesson: $36.00 per child
Please note: Semi-private lessons are only offered for tutoring and sports instruction.

How to EnrollApplication ProcessComplete both sides of the attached application, sign the back of the form, and return it with a $300 deposit per camper. Once we receive your application, and it has been reviewed, a confirmation/invoice will be mailed to verify your child(ren)’s reservation. The balance of the tuition is due by April 1, 2013. Full payment of the tuition is required for all applications sent after April 1, 2013.

Grouping RequestsIf you would like your child grouped with a specific friend, please write the friend’s name and home phone number on the application. Campers MUST be entering the same grade next fall.
Health History RecordAfter your child is enrolled, we’ll send you an ESF Camper Health History Record. This form must be filled out and signed by you, the camper’s parent/guardian, as well as a licensed health care provider. For the health and safety of all campers, no child will be allowed to attend camp without a completed health form on file.
General InformationTransportationIf you are interested in organizing your own car pool, please check the appropriate box on the application. In May, camp parents who are interested in car pooling will receive a list of names and telephone numbers of people in their town who are also interested in car pooling.
Camp OrientationAll important camp-related materials will be distributed at Camp Orientation which takes place in late May or early June depending on the age of your child. Information on the date and times will be mailed to you in May. Your attendance at Camp Orientation is extremely important, as it will help make your child’s transition into camp as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Optional Lunch ProgramCampers may bring their lunch and drink to camp, which we refrigerate, or they can participate in our lunch program for an additional cost of $35.00 per week. To sign up for the lunch program, please check the appropriate box on the application.
Refreshments & SnackCampers are provided with a snack and juice each day. In addition, multiple water coolers with cups as well as water fountains are easily accessible to all campers throughout the day.
Camp T-ShirtAll campers will receive an “Official Camp T-shirt.” Please circle your child’s shirt size on the attached application.

Cancellations & ChangesIf you need to cancel your child’s enrollment, you must notify us in writing by April 1, 2013 in order to receive a refund. Cancellations on or prior to this date are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds will be given out after April 1, 2013 regardless of your registration date. There are no allowances given for late arrival, early dismissal, vacations, illness, or injury. Changes in the enrolled weeks are based upon availability and must also be made on or before the April 1, 2013 deadline.
