SUMMARY

Micarea umbrosa VEZDA et V. WIRTH sp. n., independently found by both the authors in Eu-rope is described. It is closely related to Micarea bauschiana (KORB.) V. WIRTH et VEZDA comb. n. (= Biatora bauschiana KORB.). A key (in latin) to the better known European species of the genus Micarea is presented; the following new combinations are necessary: Micarea bacidiella (VAIN.) VEZDA (= Lecidea denigrata var. bacidiella VAIN.), M. hemipoliella (NYL.) VEZDA (=Lecidea hemi- poliella NYL.), M. leprosula (TH. FR.) VEZDA (= Bilimbia milliaria * leprosula TH. FR.), M. minus- cula (ANzI) VEZDA (= Bacidia minuscula ANzI), M. polioides (NYL.) VEZDA (= Lecidea polioides NYL.), M. subleprosula (VEZDA) VEZDA (= Bacidia subleprosula VEZDA) and M. sylvicola (FLOT.) VEZDA et V. WIRTH (Lecidea sylvicola FLOT.).
