Back to Nineveh Bake Sale at Apple Days, October 5, on the Greenville Square. Donations of cakes, candy, fruit pies, cookies, caramel corn, rolls,and breads are needed for this fund raiser. Baked goods need to be broughtto the church kitchen between 3 and 5 p.m. on Friday, October 4, forpackaging and pricing. Volunteers, both men and women, are needed to load,

transport, set up/tear down tables, serve at the booth, and help with clean up for the sale−please sign up on the main kitchen door. Contact Jo Ann Noble, 664-9532, if you have questions. Thank you for your generous support of Ken and Linda Kaufmann as they serve in the Middle East.~The Missions Committee

Adventure Plus is planning a trip to Amish country (Arthur, Illinois) on Thursday, October 10. The bus will leave the church at 8:00 a.m. and return about 5:00 p.m. Trip will include a farm wagon ride, Yoder's Country Restaurant, The Pumpkin Patch, and Beachy's Country Store. Sign up in an Adult Class or on the poster in the hall near the kitchen.

The Prayer Band is comprised of people committed to GFMC being a bona fide"house of prayer" through consistent involvement in personal and corporate prayer,continuous training in prayer modes and ministry, and constant readiness to serve

in one of many prayer ministries in the church(e.g. altar ministry, freedom in Christ counseling, intercession, rescue teams, etc.)

If there is a past CD you would like or need CDs mailed ($3.50 each), fill out a request form located on the church office window and drop it in the black box along with payment. TeenMOPS Donations: During September, Pak-n-Plays are available near both entrances for placing your donation items for TeenMOPS. Monetary donations can be turned in to the church office.

Life Chain: You are invited to join with others in the Bond County community for a one-hour Pro-Life vigil for the unborn on Sunday, October 6, 2:00-3:00 p.m., at the Pregnancy Support Center, 116 Second Street.

Missions Prayer Cue: David Clemente and his two children,Carmen and Jacob, are in a new school year in Taiwan this month. David teaches Mission Courses at Holy Light Theological Seminary and the children attend an elementary school established forchildren of missionaries. Wife and mother, Sarah, wears numerous "hats" in and out of their home. GFMC regularly supports this family.

Dear Church Family –

On October 2 the FMY will be assembling CARE packages for students who graduated last year. Many of them are away at college and ALL of them would enjoy a CAREpackage from home. There are three ways that you might help us: 1) Write a note to one of the students listed below; 2) Give us some shoe boxes to pack our goodies in; and 3) Give us some money for both the ‘stuff’ and the postage (you can make a check to: Greenville FMY).Here are the 26 people we will be making packages for (notice we have one exchange student as well):

October is Pastors' Appreciation Month: Thank you to Pastor Doug, Pastor Margie, Pastor Greg, Pastor Carl, and Pastor Tom for the hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings they bring to our church. You are invited to a Come-and-Go Wedding Shower for Alexandria LaFaye and Dean Thole TODAY, at 3:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Alexandria and Dean are registered at Target.

Greenville Choral Union Messiah Rehearsals have begun. Rehearsals are each Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., at the Whitlock Music Center on the Greenville CollegeCampus. The Choral Union, open to singers high school age and older, will prepare G.F. Handel's Oratorio, Messiah. Performance will be Sunday, December 8,at 4:00 p.m.

WMI Missionary Luncheon will meet at noon on Wednesday, October 2 (NOTE: FIRST Wednesday of the month). Dr. Henry Church will report on his recent trip to visit our Free Methodist work in the Middle East. Potluck lunch begins at noon,followed by the speaker at 12:30 p.m. A free-will offering will be taken.

FMY Sponsored Wednesday Night Meal is Wednesday, October 2, 5:00 p.m.The menu this month is meatballs and gravy, green beans, and apple crisp. Suggesteddonations of $4 per person ($15 for family of 4 or more) are appreciated andproceeds go to FMY/Senior Teens.
