Student Laptop PC Minimum Specification for Landscape and Interior Undergraduate Courses

Many students are finding a laptop computer very useful for their studies. This allows unlimited access to a computer for the creation of reports, develop plans etc. With the wireless network facilities available at the college access to the web, as well as college data and files, is possible provided your laptop is wireless enabled. Desktop pc’s are available during the day, evening and at weekends at the college for students to use but this is not as flexible as having your own laptop.

The main CAD program used by the school of design is AutoCAD and a free student copy of this is available from the supplier, Autodesk, once you are registered as a student and have a college email address. For Landscape and Garden design students the specialist add-on program Keyscape is also available free as a student edition. For Interior design students the Architectural version of AutoCAD is available. All these are full versions of the program but their use is restricted to educational purposes.

To run the latest (2010) version of AutoCAD the following is a minimum requirement for a laptop/pc:
