Eponicity and Lighthouse Counseling present:
You the Healer
As a Healer your soul has been called to give, to heal, to provide comfort to others during
difficult times; with selflessness and compassion.
Your needs are often set aside and life consists only of giving and can you may find it hard to
receive.
Eventually the giving becomes a strain, both physically and emotionally.
The depleted healer becomes vulnerable to burn-out, and can begin to perceive their
healing gift as a burden.
Recognizing it is essential to take time for self-care, to renew and to learn to receive can
restore light and energy back into the soul of the healer.
Eponicity’s Facilitators
Deborah Draves Legg left her life in the USA in 2006
and created Leaves and Lizards in Costa Rica with
her husband, Steven Legg. She enjoyed a 25 year
nursing career as a charge and transport nurse in
Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU. Debbie is a personable,
practical and inspirational leader. Horses found their
way into Debbie’s life after the move to Costa Rica.
What started as trail riding for tourists for Leaves
and Lizards has now grown into relationship based
horsemanship and a well known equine facilitated
learning program (EFL). Experiencing first-hand how
horses teach us about ourselves, she went on to
become an advanced Eponaquest & Power of the
Herd instructor and has created the ideal learning
environment for families, individuals and groups to
explore personal growth with the horses. She speaks
internationally about EFL and the benefits of the
specialized programs at Eponicity.
Sally Nilsson is a certified executive coach with
the Institute of Professional Excellence in
Coaching (IPEC), experienced facilitator, mentor
and instructor in Eponaquest & Power of the
Herd horse-led leadership and personal
development activities.
Sally spent 15 years as a corporate attorney in
London and Hong Kong, starting her career in a
leading global law firm. Her communication skills
and emotional intelligence have always been at the
core of her leadership style.
Sally first discovered Leaves and Lizards by chance
on a riding vacation and, a few years later in 2015,
stepped off the corporate path to follow her
passion, move to Costa Rica and focus her full
attention on supporting others to find and access
the life they truly want – and to believe that, like
her, they can create it.

“…I reconnected with myself, (allowed) myself to open to new experiences and stepped out of my comfort zone, I felt supported…I learned to trust other people, animals and most importantly – myself…”
“…I was able to appreciate the benefits of self care and was able to shift focus and not feel stuck any longer. I learned about energy, setting intention and mindfulness skills…”
“…this experience was life changing. I connected with deep parts of my self that needed addressing and processing… I learned boundary setting, (the retreat) increased my feeling of worthiness, importance of listening to my body…the Mindful Movement practice was something I will take home and practice. This retreat would be beneficial for anyone in my field…”
“ …I learned to trust myself in my ability to make decisions, positive self care…the amount of information I learned about myself through my horse was infinite! I will be able to take all of the skills I learned and apply them professionally!... ”
