Quantity in Asset Management & Split process

Very often, the supply of an Asset is related to more than one

piece (e.g. 6 chairs). For those cases, first it is required to

record the Asset Quantity and then to create such a number

of assets as the quantity entered. To do this in Epicor ERP, you

should generate each single asset using the Fixed Assets

forms and then add part of the addition cost on each one of

them.

This Epicor ERP custom solution allows you to insert and track

the quantity of each asset and furthermore, it enables you to

split the addition of an asset to more than one fixed assets. By

entering the fixed asset quantity, a specific new procedure

take over in order to create, with the same parameters, so

many copies of the initial asset – as the quantity entered –

splitting the value as-well. A simple and safe procedure.

Create the new asset (e.g. Laptops for Consultants) by adding

the required quantity.

procedure.

Make a new addition cost for this asset (3000).

Assume that you need to monitor the purchase of five (5) laptops as one asset and you

decide to split this asset. From the Asset maintenance, choose the new Action «Asset Split»

and run the process.

The system will create the four (4) assets, resulting to a sum of five (5) including the main

one.

By refreshing the selected Asset the quantity has changed to 1.

The Asset Split process creates the corresponding cost additions (€ 600 per asset) and

copies the entire asset configuration.

Now, the introduction of many equity assets from a single transaction it is a simple and safe

procedure.
