Assets and Operations
The Manned Submersible Advantage
Reduced cost of deployment and increased mission flexibility Safe, reliable, certified and insured manned submersibles and underwater vehicles
Technology adaptation, development and commercialization Strategic partnerships leverage expertise across missions
Expensive Support Vessels & Launch and Recovery Systems Are Not Required
Client: ADMA OPCO Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company ADNOC Group
Manned Submersible Solutions:
Eliminate tether management issues and the requirement for dynamic positioning capable support vessels
Work off any ship of opportunity Permit real-time modifications to test profiles, onsite visual reconnaissance and
dynamic multi stakeholder assessments Reduce mobility and demobilization costs, each submersible can be containerized
and shipped anywhere in the world Allow technology adaption and add-ons through the flexible configuration of each
submersible Provide a single solution or work in tandem with AUVs, ROVs and other
underwater vehicles and data collection programs Deploy COTS technology from other industries to reduce engineering and
equipment costs Leverage engineering, materials science and industry-specific expertise through
strategic partnerships
Antipodes Submersible
Utilized for deep-water expeditions, Antipodes is a manned submersible that enables commercial and scientific applications for researchers, scientists, filmmakers and content providers. Through this unique submersible, EnviTech clients can access
underwater environments and target sites at depths of nearly 305 meters (1,000 feet).
Antipodes accommodates a crew of 5, including a pilot, and boasts a 305-meter depth rating, which allows access to much of the world’s continental shelves and the biology that exists in those areas. Twin 58-inch hemispherical acrylic domes also provide exceptional views for direct observation and filming during deep-sea expeditions, while
its 6,350 kg (14,000 lbs) weight and 15 ft. x 7.8 ft. x 8 ft. dimensions ensure impressive portability on a variety of ships.
Engineered with both safety and convenience in mind, Antipodes is certified by the
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and has proven itself as a safe and effective vessel
over the course of more than 1,300 dives in a variety of sea conditions. While typical
mission profiles will call for dives of 2-8 hours in duration, Antipodes has the additional
capability to provide life support for five people for 72 hours.
Potential applications for submersible inspection
Hydrographic survey, sea floor area mapping and data collection Site surveys and inspection of oil and gas fields Pipeline and underwater cable surveying Bridge and pontoon inspection
Hull and ship inspection, including hull-side survey and propulsion systems Water, sewer, and drainage outfall inspection Aquatic sea life monitoring, documentation and assessment Potential polluting wreck inspection
Search and confirmation of lost or missing aircraft, ships, and high-value assets
Site Survey and Inspection
Conduct continuous and extensive site surveys to inspect underwater infrastructure, wrecks or sensitive environmental habitats without resurfacing -- from the comfort and
safety of a 5-person submersible. The ability to have direct “eyes on site” ensures immediate verification and confirmation of site specific issues or problems.
Manned submersibles provide an excellent vehicle to conduct multiple surveys and analysis of critical infrastructure, perform multi-directional site surveys, map local area
geography, or carry-out sensitive reconnaissance work.
Research and Data Collection
EnviTech provides deep-sea manned submersible solutions for subsea exploration and
research initiatives for a variety of research and academic institutions. EnviTech research submersibles allow marine scientists to conduct biological, chemical, geochemical, geological and geophysical studies, viewing and sampling organisms in their natural settings. Manned research submersibles have contributed to some of the
major research breakthroughs of the past 50 years, such as the discovery of widespread life at hydrothermal vents and methane seeps, and have allowed marine biologists to study life and collect intact organisms from many deep-sea environments.
Core Capabilities Include:
In-situ sampling Instrument deployment, manipulation and recovery On-site direct observation of natural systems
Selective collection at sensitive sites
Client Benefits:
3, 4, 5 crew capacity to allow for onsite collaboration for multi-disciplined research team Diverse HD image content library
Mobile, cost-effective and efficient solutions to match research and grant budgets Environmentally sensitive and low impact to environment Ability to change and adjust sampling and data collections tools and equipment
based on research requirements
Potential applications and testing scenarios:
Pressure sensitive tolerance and structural integrity
