The destruction of the Amazon rain forest is seen as most pressing issue
● Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world
Repercussions
Increase in possibility of droughts (leads to famine)
Toxic waste infiltrating into oceans and water supply
Degradation of industry and business (economic downfall)
Indigenous tribes are being forced to leave as their homes in the forest are destroyed
What changes has Brazil made?

Cattle ranching and soybean production curbed
Freshwater preservation
What Still Needs to Be Addressed?
Slums and refugees fleeing environmental crises
Continued degradation of the Amazon rain forest by cattle ranches and farms
