There is no charge to departments
or shops for any work requested
of or performed by EH&S.
Ergonomics EH&S can come and evaluate your
workspace to address ergonomic
issues. We can rearrange and adjust
your existing equipment to improve your
ergonomic comfort as well as provide
recommendations for new equipment.
Incident Reports In an effort to increase safety on campus,
please submit an incident report to EH&S
for all:
Hazards found or identified
Injuries or illnesses that occur on
campus
Injuries or illnesses that happen to
EWU students or employees on EWU
sponsored trips/events
Near misses
Chemical or biological spills or
releases
Fires or explosions
Indoor Air Quality and Noise If you are experiencing problems in your
workspace with air quality or noise,
EH&S can conduct testing to evaluate
your area. We can provide suggestions
for alterations or equipment that may
help to reduce issues you are
experiencing.
Submit your incident report online.
Environmental Health & Safety Our mission is to ensure a safe and
healthy environment for all students,
faculty, staff, and visitors, and to protect
the environmental integrity of the campus
and surroundings.
We work with employees, departments,
and shops to ensure compliance with
federal and state regulations regarding
safety and the environment. To
accomplish this we:
Provide safety and regulatory trainings
Inspect buildings and workplaces for
health or safety issues and work to
remedy them
Collect and dispose of hazardous and
universal waste that is generated on
campus
Serve as a resource for safe work
practices and regulations that affect
the university
Maintain records of incidents that
occur on campus, or to persons
associated with the university
Respond to
chemical or
biological
issues on
campus

We also collect hazardous waste, both
chemical and biological, that is generat-
ed on campus and dispose of it.
In addition to waste, we also collect un-
wanted chemicals and work to redistrib-
ute them to departments or shops that
can use them.
