Environmental Health & Safety Our mission is to ensure a safe and

healthy environment for all students,

faculty, staff, and visitors, and to protect

the environmental integrity of the campus

federal and state regulations regarding

safety and the environment. To

accomplish this we:

Provide safety and regulatory trainings

health or safety issues and work to

remedy them

Collect and dispose of hazardous and

universal waste that is generated on

Serve as a resource for safe work

practices and regulations that affect

the university

Maintain records of incidents that

occur on campus, or to persons

associated with the university

Respond to

chemical or

biological

issues on

campus

Training Classes These are examples of some of the

trainings provided by EH&S. Special

trainings can be given at the request of a

department or shop.

several types of universal waste

including batteries, light bulbs, ballasts,

and aerosol cans.

We also collect hazardous waste, both

chemical and biological, that is generat-

ed on campus and dispose of it.

In addition to waste, we also collect un-

wanted chemicals and work to redistrib-

ute them to departments or shops that

can use them.

For questions regarding waste and

chemical recycling, contact Kathy Kees
