Migration: Context
Help 3rd countries to better manage migration flows.
Being complementary to geographical programmes and other instruments, this thematic programme is primarily, not exclusively, looking at migration to the European Union.
The thematic programme will not directly address the root causes of migration but is particularly adapted to capacity building and to encourage cooperation initiatives.
EuropeAidMigration: Priorities
1. To foster the links between migration and development,
2. To promote well-managed labour migration,
3. To fight illegal immigration, and facilitate re-admission of illegal immigrants,
4. To protect migrants against exploitation and exclusion and support the fight against trafficking in human beings,
5. To promote asylum, international protection and the protection of stateless persons.
EuropeAidMigration: Overview 2009 AAP
