Environmental pollution in

Staszow

The Sulphur Mine The sulphur mine in Dobrow produce a large

amount of sulfur compounds which contaminate the air and the ground.

RubbishUnsorted rubbish on the inadequate landfill in Pocieszka threaten the environment. The local

community also export rubbish to the illegal dumps in the forest.

The Power Station ‘Polaniec’

The Power station ‘Polaniec’ makes the air full of the large amount of pollution

created in the process of combustion the coal. The power station also

heat the water from Wisla river what is

harmful for environment.

 Salt in a river

The spring rains collect the salt from the streets which is crumbled during the winter. Next that

salt is transported with canalization to the Czarna River. As a result the amount of the salt in the

river increase.

FertilizersThe fertilizers and the plant protection products

transpotred from fields and gardens by the rainwater run down to the ground and the river that makes the

environment polluted.

RainwaterPolluted rainwater from the houses` roofs is

transpotred to the river. It should be gathered near houses in special tanks and

used for example to wash.

Energetic heat generating plant

Energetic heat generating plant pollute the air producing exhaust fumes.

Low emissionThe old central heating furnaces in houses produce

a lot of harmful substances during the winter. Using modern kettles which are heated with gas

we can decrease the smog.

Cars The cars passing the centre of the city make it more polluted. Having the bypass there would not be as much

shakes that destroy the buildings in the centre of the city. What is more the local people would not have to breathe in

carbon and nitrogen oxidies.

Our friendsFortunately we have got friends that takes care of the environmental protection. A lot of forests near Staszow reduce the pollution and because of that

we can live in a clear area.
