FALL BALL IN NORTH EDISON FOR BOYS & GIRLS—The North Edison Baseball & Softball’s 2013 Fall Ball season will begin on or about September 13, 2013 and will end on or about November 8th. TOWNSHIP TO OFFER WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUE FOR ADULTS Applications for the 2014 season will be available on Monday, October 15th at both Recreation Centers. The league is open to all Middlesex County

MIDTOWN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL – Come sign up for Fall Ball and early registration for the 2014 season at discounted prices. Registration information is on the website. The Major Field is being improved to be 50/70 compliant with Little League International rules. MIDTOWN TO HOST CAR SHOW – Midtown Edison Little League is sponsoring its 3rd annual Car Show on Sunday, September 22, 2013 in the Petco Parking lot at 1029 Route #1 from 11 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Aside from classic and custom vehicles, the show will feature music provided by 105.5 WDHA FM, food and beverages, pet adoption and door prizes. SHORINJIRYU KARATE OFFERED AT RECREATION CENTERS It is the ultimate purpose of Shorinjiryu Karate-do to develop individuality in mind and body through the study of traditional techniques and the spirit of competition.

ROVERS 2013 FALL SOCCER “SKILLS CAMP” – The annual Rovers 2013 Fall Training Soccer “Skills Camp”, directed by professional soccer coach, Spencer Rockman, kicks off the week of September 29th at the Stelton Community Center/Stelton Park and at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center/James Elder Park. This once-a-week, high energy skills camp runs for five weeks. The emphasis is on skill building training games which promote maximum learning and enjoyment…enhanced by a small-sided soccer match in each session. The camp accommodates all levels of playing experience. The fun never stops! This program is open to boys and girls, aged 3 – 10. Choose from Stelton Park: Sunday 1:15 p.m. – 2:15 p.m. Monday 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Elder Park: Sunday 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., Wednesday 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Schedule conflict? RECREATION OFFERS WEIGHT ROOM FACILITIES FOR ADULTS Our Edison Recreation Department offers weight rooms at both community centers. Open to both residents and non-residents both centers offer free weights, universal machines, treadmills and exercise bikes.

A resident fee of $10.00 a month or a non-resident fee of $30.00 a month is charged. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. You must register at the Recreation Office, 100 Municipal Blvd., Edison, NJ.

TAIJI/GONGFU PROGRAM FOR ADULTS & CHILDREN – Taiji is one category of Qi/Gong, Gongfu. It has about 1000 years of history. It emphasizes mind and body in harmony with peace. By doing Taiji, the practitioners achieve internal strength and external beauty. Taiji quan is called “moving meditation” which is mostly the mental activity paying attention to the internal feeling to make sure that Qi flows smoothly, fluidly and reaches all parts of the body. As a martial art, Taiji quan builds up firm rooting and develops sharp awareness. The program will be held on Saturdays at the Stelton Community Center. TOWNSHIP WELCOMES ALL YOUTH BOWLERS TO ITS FALL BOWLING PROGRAM – Edison Recreation is sponsoring a weekly bowling program for boys and girls between the ages of 5 to 14. We will be offering two bowling centers for your convenience. Residents in the southern and western sections of Edison can continue to enjoy bowling on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. at Stelton Lanes, which is located at 1665 Stelton Road (approximately one mile from the Stelton Community Center); while residents in the northern and eastern sections may now enjoy bowling on Tuesdays at 4:15 p.m. at Majestic Lanes, which is located near the intersection of Amboy Avenue and Route 9 North (525 Route 9 North).
