• All forms of poetry or spoken word are welcome.• Must be a student at Jefferson or Kennedy High School. • Themes to include: Diversity, Peace, Unity and Equity• Submissions that use explicit or inappropriate language will be immediately disqualified.• Work that is not original will be immediately disqualified. If you are quoting others in your

piece, it must include citations (verbal citations in spoken word).

• One winner will be selected from both Jefferson and Kennedy High Schools. • Each winner will receive $100 from Richfield Bloomington Credit Union (RBCU).• Submissions will be judged by a panel of representatives appointed by the Diversity Day

Planning Committee and RBCU.• Winners will be recognized at a City Council meeting and School Board meeting in May.• Winners will read or perform their original piece on Diversity Day at the Peace Pole

rededication at Bloomington Civic Plaza; Diversity Day is on May 4.

Submission Directions• Submission Deadline: Friday, April 20 at 3:30 p.m. • In Person: Students may submit hardcopies of their original piece to Dave Mousel (JHS -

Main Office) or Jessica Rice (KHS - Attendance Office)• Electronic: Students may submit their original piece electronically using a Google Form and

your student email account. Text may be submitted as a word document or PDF format. Audio and video files may be submitted in .m4a, .MP4, or .mov format. All poetry and spoken word submissions must include a text submission; audio and video are optional.
